The best vide on this procedure I've seen, and Ive seen more than I ever wanted to see, lol. Thank you. For some Jettas, there are an additional two bolts you need to access from the bottom of the car. They are next to the oil fill tube. Once again, best video on this topic!

I bought the OEM thermostat, now, does that small "vent" go on bottom or top ? Long story, I have had that f n intake on and off tonight 3x.
@boomerguy9935 Жыл бұрын
This is a great video but this job is not as easy as it sounds. The intake manifold needs a special tool (CTA 8541 14" x 6mm Hex Bit Socket) to remove one of the bolts. I bought one for my mechanic to do this job and he said he doesn't think he could have done the job without it. It's less than $20 and is worth it, even if you only have to use it once because of the time and tears it saves.

You installed the thermostat upside down, the jiggle valve always goes up at the 12 o'clock position. If the thermostat is not clocked correctly you will never get all the air out of the cooling system

At 29:50 the old thermostat air bleed valve was facing diagonal left down. Eric the car guy video said that valve should be facing on top so air can go thru. Maybe Volkswagon made a mistake on install?

so it takes 10 mm for the rail but it looks like 8 mm for the intake can you confirm that size? i'm having a time locating 12 point torx wrenches.
