That 'exhast manifold' was the intake manifold...it's a Hot V. Damn dude...that's a hell of a complex engine to be wrenching for the first time.

If this jumped timing as you say, it is junk.

It most likely jumped time because the timing chain guides are falling apart. Pull the front timing cover and see. Soon they will be collecting in the oil intake tube and causing more bad things.
