Bought this kit after watching the video only to realize while dissembling that there is a regular AA battery that is in the igniter button when you unscrew it. So I replaced the battery and bam, she started clicking and the burners lit right up lol. Saved myself the trouble and cost of switching out the entire thing lol.

I work at an Ace Hardware in NJ. I build these three out of five days I work, and wanted to say I appreciate this video. A former manager had removed an entire ignition module from a boxed grill because like you, another grill wasn’t functioning properly. So now I’m working with said “module-less” grill and found this vid particularly more than helpful. Thank you, sir!

My igniter was not working. I know nothing about fixing BBQ grills. Found your video and watched it. First let me say that your video was extremely well done. You explained every detail of what needs to be done and your video angles showed every step for those of us who need visual instructions. Your video calmed my anxiety and I had no doubts that this old woman would be able to replace her igniter. That being said, I didn't have to replace the igniter because it was just the battery. Because of your video, I now knew there was a battery that might need replacing (that's how much I knew about BBQ grills). I know that if I ever have to replace the igniter I can do it because you were so kind to make this video. Thanks so much Charles.

Thanks so much! I had one burner that wouldn't ignite and had resigned myself to using a lighter to light it, but my wife wasn't too keen on that idea, so the other option was to have it repaired at an undoubtedly ungodly cost. Since I had already replaced the main igniter a year or so back, I had the other parts, and finding your vid allowed me to do the repair myself. Yahoo!!!

Easy fix, even for a guy with 5 thumbs of each hand. Bought $20ish replacement on Amazon and followed video. Hint: Don't replace the "sparkers" if the are working, just replace the electronic box and if that solves your problem, forget the rest. Once you have it apart is 4 slide on/slide off connecters...easy peasy. Video very helpful.

Replaced my ignitors after watching this. Tip for those who do the same: 2 of 3 ignitors did not fire after the replacement. It turned out that the ignitors were too far away from the burners to arc properly and create a spark. Expansion / contraction after bbq use is the likely cause. Found some metal wire and secured the ignitors so they were closer to the burners. Works perfectly now.

Thank you Charles. Will be doing this soon as my sparker stopped working this week - after 13 years of service. I'll likely change out the burners at the same time. I received those from Weber a few years ago and now time to install them. Thanks again for the clear instruction. I've bookmarked this video.

Great vid Charles. Only suggestion I have after completing the same project is: 1) put a little dieletric grease on each of the electrical fittings as you re-assemble the starter - it may help delay the next replacement and helps the new ones slide right (be sure each wire "clicks" into place); 2) take a toothbrush to clean off the soot and dust that tends to collect on the gas/air mix inlet screens of each burner valve while you have the cover plate off - this will keep your burners run a hot and efficient flame just as they did from the factory. BTW - I tested my eletrodes after simply unplugging the old starter unit and plugging in the new one. I decided not to mess with replacing them as the wires weren't brittle - they started right up (save the new ones for later)! I did have to adjust one of the old electrodes just a bit by bending it down a tad closer to the gas burner so it lit the burner immediately after sparking (note if you do this you do not want the electrode to touch the gas burner as it will short out). Looking forward to several more years of Weber grilled steaks! FYI - My Genesis 310 was purchased in 2012. After doing this simple exchange I was kicking myself for not doing this sooner (igniter one out 4 years ago)!!

Thanks for this video, made the replacement of my igniter a5-minute job. I rang my local Weber store to buy the kit and they told me that Weber gives a lifetime warranty on the igniter. All I had to provide was the serial number which is on a sticker on the inside of the barbecue. This is in Australia, I don't know whether the warranty is worldwide or a new thing. Nevertheless worth checking before buying a kit. Again, thank you for your instruction video!

Helpful Video. I also have a gensis E310 grill like yours, purchased around 2012 and last year my igniters stopped working. I will say though, I decided to try not replacing all of the igniters on the burners and tried the new module with the old igniters and it worked perfectly. So to others attempting this. You may be able to save yourself a lot of hassle and skip the last half of this installation. Saving newer igniters in case they fail later. Thanks for video just the same!

Great video. Instructions are excellent as well if you like an extra visual. Not exactly sure why the instructions tell you to take the cover off. Not necessary and the only thing I can think of is for safety reasons so the cover doesn’t fall on your hands while working. Again, totally up to you, but has no bearing on the installation. Make sure that you reinstall the heat shield correctly. Otherwise your doors won’t shut. I had to take the heat shield off again to close the doors. Installation is a breeze and works great! Thanks for the video. Very helpful.

Thanks for the excellent clear video. Not as simple for me as the four Phillips screws were almost impossible to remove on my 11 year old grill. Found the remains of a mouse nest inside after I finally got the pieces off. Ended up ruining two of the screws so the bottom piece is not going back on. Might be for the best as it will not be as mouse friendly with it off.
