First, I want to say I am not a mechanic to be a female I’ve never worked on vehicles. This is the third time my window regulator messes up. I got tired of paying mechanics so I looked at your video and it look at little scary with all the things I have to do but I follow it step-by-step just with my two sons I’m glad to say that, we succeed In fixing the window for the first time. The way you explained it on your video helped alot you gave detail on everything on how to do step-by-step thank you. 👍

After having 3 of these break on us over 8 years, we decided to try it ourselves for the 4th replacement. In our 2010 Town & Country, there was far less room to work as far as reaching the rods for removal and installation. Reinstalling the rods was the most difficult part for us just because we couldn't reach inside the hole. Thanks for the video. Saved us a few hundred dollars in labor.

So how did you reach in the hole...I'm gonna attempt to do this...any help would be appreciated
@CornPopsDood2 жыл бұрын
@@richluvsellie1 How’d it go for you? I’m about to tackle it as well, but I’m debating on just taking the whole plastic panel on the inside that everything mounts too completely off. Doesn’t seem like it would be that much more work, & give a lot more room.
@ShannonKWest2 жыл бұрын
I also have a 2010. There's only room for one arm making it even more challenging. And I'm battling with getting the smaller of those two rods reconnected. I can't tell if the head of that smaller rod is supposed to slip into a pivot hole then the plastic collar snaps on like the larger rod. There has to be an easier way to get that bugger on! @TRQ Great video! Edited Note Follows: Yeah, that smaller rod does slip into a hole that the plastic collar pivots on. My rod wasn't aligning properly so I introduced it to my pliers. Bingo bango! It went right in. I should have tried that 3 hours ago because now it's too dark to finish.

Thank you so much for the video!! I can’t believe I did this pretty much on my own! My husband who is mechanical and usually does all of this stuff was impressed lol I did need his help for the two little bars that were spoken of with the door handle but other than that I surprise myself lol I should’ve gotten some painters tape because now I have to clean all of the duck tape residue off of my windows and it really didn’t work it kept disconnecting🙄 Thank you again!

Great video. I would not have been able to do without it. Consulted it throughout the job and worked great. Had most trouble on disconnecting and reconnection of the lock rod which to tough to see and get to. He gets a better camera shot when reconnecting it. Once you understand how those plastic things that secure the connection work, it is easier to do. One other thing for me that was different, is that my window was broke in the down position. As other commentors said, use the speaker hole to pull up the window manually and they you can disconnect and tape in place per the video. Upon reinstall, you need to hook up window controls temporarily like he does in the disassembly part and adjust the window up so you can get the tabs to click it into place. Even though the window in not fully in the tabs it will still push the window into position enough to access the tabs and complete the job. You then disconnect the window controls again and reassemble just like the video.
@CornPopsDood2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the heads up. Is there no way to move them manually by loosening the tension? How is the part quality?

Awesome video. Straight and to the point as you walked us thru it without all the extraneous pausing to talk. Both my wife and I are disabled, me more than she, so she did most of the work. Fortunately she IS mechanically inclined. She does have one issue with the video. After removing the inside panel, she brought it in the house and we switched out the regulator. no problem. Reinstalled the panel and tried to reinstall the motor, using your suggestions. The cable reel was a little off kilter. Nothing she tried would allow the motor to seat. After an hour of fighting with it (and slicing her thumb reaching around to the back) she brought the panel back in the house. A tie strap around the cable wheel a laying it flat on the floor allowed us to seat the motor. We suggest installing the motor BEFORE remounting the panel. Other than that, The next repair we need to do on a vehicle, we will look for your videos. Highly recommend you.

+wtxbear - I read your comment yesterday when I was still researching the procedure and spent most of today replacing the window regulator on my Wife's Caravan. I had a fairly difficult time with it in spots and by the end of the job became very impressed that you say your wife did most of the work! I also wanted to tell you, that I took your advice on installing the motor to the panel before placing it on the door. I too had trouble getting the gears of the motor to align with the regulator gears and was glad that I was able to apply pressure to the mechanisms from both sides as I mounted it together. Thank you for the tip! I'm sure that it saved me some time and frustration.

Thank you times a million! Your instructions were so clear and easy to follow. My only difference was that the regulator had broken so the window was all the way down. I was able to take loose the inside panel ahead of time and one of the broken cables was up near the top left and when I yanked it, the window came up enough to grab it.
@CornPopsDood2 жыл бұрын
Unless it was the the tension on the broken cable holding it in you could’ve just grabbed the top from inside the door (access or speaker hole), & pushed it up that way. That part is definitely easier said than done, & is the one part having another pair of hands is as good as gold. Did you use their parts?

Incredibly well done video. The only issue I had was when I was done, the power locks wouldnt work along with the auto up feature of the drivers window only. Turns out you can reset the auto up feature by closing the window and continuing to hold up for 2 seconds and then roll the window down and continue holding for two seconds. That appears to have fixed both issues. And of course, thank you for saving me a lot of money!

Yeah, good video but I had some issues. My tape didn't hold for me so I had some narrow gauge wire for hobby type stuff and used that to hold it up. The wire connector closest to the latch was completely unreachable till I took the panel off. I think putting the motor on before you attempt to put the panel on is easier also. Those window clips are super hard to take off and put back on. They take some major coercion. And finally don't get the three screws for the latch mixed up with the three screws for the motor!
