Hey everyone! Have you noticed less vibration and more positive shifting in your transmission after replacing your transmission mount? Feel free to leave a tip 😊💲VENMO: @GarageDynamics

Very clear video clips and simple and understood. I'm ordered my Trany mount and I'm learning from your video a lot . You saved me a lot of money from any Mechanics not mentioned the dealers. Thank you very much Man!

You keep your ride tight like I do. I love your videos. Mine had the trans sitting on the rear support bracket before fixing....

Thx for the video, can you tell the torque spec for the bolts? I did this job a few days ago and used these spec with Permatex Blue Threadlocker. (16, 13)mm for the mount (35, 25) ft-lb, then the 4 bolts for the bracket 35 ft-lb.

Can you do a video of changing the engine mounts please? I did this today because of your help. I still have some vibration so I know it’s the engine mounts.

Thanks, I did mine this week. Question; what's the damage if the transmission was left to hang freely? I left it on the "Chinese-brand" bottle jack overnight and the hydrolic came down.

Hello James Bou! It's hard to say really. I would check with a local Mercedes Benz mechanic just to be sure.

Is this the mount you need to replace if your transmission is "jumping" out of place? When I'm in first gear and accelerate fast, the shifter moves up a bit on its own and I'd like to fix it

Great vid. Just wondering as im getting ready to do this myself but is jacking up the trans by the pan safe? Most mechanics say no but everyone i see do this on their benz does this... if fact i don't see another place to jack it up. Also was curious why you had a ground cable on your trans mount. Sorry last question but what size plywood did you use?
@GarageDynamics2 жыл бұрын
Hello Adam, That's awesome that you're changing your transmission mount. Thank you for watching this video. It's not recommended to jack up the car by the transmission pan. It is ok to lift up the transmission with a jack if the car is already being supported by jack stands. The goal is to lift the transmission just enough to relieve pressure off of the bolts to remove them and also to hold the transmission up while changing the transmission mount. The transmission comes grounded from the factory but the wire is small and exposed which can lead to corrosion. I just added a bigger, better ground wire :) I think its a 12 inch x12 inch x .5 inch I hope this helps. Cheers!

I need to replace my motor and transmission mounts, mechanic is trying to charge $2,100, does that sound right? W204 4matic.
@GarageDynamics5 жыл бұрын
Hello xxsekoxx! That sounds like a lot to me. If the procedure for changing the transmission mount is just like that on the S Class w220 then it's really simple. Considering that you have 4matic. Things might be a little different. The mount itself is only cost about 47 dollars. If it's something you feel uncomfortable doing yourself then I would definitely shop around for better prices. Here is the link for the mount. If you decide to purchase this mount please confirm that it's the correct mount before making your purchase. Hope this helps. Cheers! I have replaced my driveshaft reason why is because, when I hit the gas it felt like something from the rear of the car jerks Like something is about to ripped like a shift movement, me thinking that it was the driveshaft I was wrong, can the transmission mount cause that?
@GarageDynamics3 жыл бұрын
Hello Yokev_561, It's possible it could be the transmission mount. Usually a sign of a bad transmission mount is when the car shifts and you feel the car kick. However, this could happen when you hit the gas. I would remove the transmission mount and inspect it for cracks in the rubber. They make a bigger mount that can handle more shock. If you find out that your mount is damaged, then I would definitely upgrade to the bigger version. I hope this helps. Cheers!

@@GarageDynamics I inspected it by having someone go thru the gears by gears I mean from park to neutral to drive to see if it moves or jiggles ( it didn’t move) the car has 170,000 miles should I changed it still or?
@GarageDynamics3 жыл бұрын
@@yokev_5611 The best way to tell is while driving the car. Usually you'll notice the feeling the most from 1st to 2nd gear, or if you're in comfort mode, then from 2nd to 3rd gear. If you don't notice any hard jerking feeling when the car is shifting, but you are still concerned about the transmission mount, then I would check it just to make sure the rubber is good and the bolts that are holding the mount are tight. There is also a rubber spacer between the drive shaft and the differential. I would also inspect that for cracks as well. I hope this helps. Cheers!
@yokev_56113 жыл бұрын
@@GarageDynamics no hard jerking at all whatsoever, I replaced the driveshaft thinking that’s what the issue was, it’s still doing it, what I had in mind is to check if the bolts are tightened (the T M bolt) i was thinking it could be the sway bar link from the rear suspension.
@GarageDynamics3 жыл бұрын
@@yokev_5611 The sway bar link could be the source of the noise. Now that I think about it, I had a loose front sway bar link and it made a clunking noise. Once I tightened the link the noise went away. I hope this helps. Cheers!
