I’m so glad I’ve discovered you & your videos. I’ve used the CG method for about 7 years STRICTLY & it can be restrictive plus I never get a polished look that sometimes I really want. I feel like you’ve given me permission to try a bit of heat & product now & again. Do what’s right for your own hair curly girls & don’t worry about what others do. If you don’t like heat don’t use heat! Simple!

Thanks for this one. I see many complaining about the heat, but sometimes this is necessary. Like you said in one of your other videos not all of our curls are equal and opposite sides don't match. I always say it's like having a bad perm. No shame in using a wand to take control. It looks great and your tips are helpful. Thanks!

This is exactly how I do my curly hair too! My front curls are always wonky and using a curling iron makes them look polished yet blended into my natural curl pattern. Love your hair and your videos!

I just recently started to wear my hair naturally curly and I'm learning a lot from you on how to keep or curly and easy maintenance. I used to blow dry it straight and then use the flat iron to only step outside in the rain and it's ruin in 5 mins. Love all your curly hair videos and I'm learning quite a lot! Thanks!

Finally some tips on second day hair without using water! I look like mufasa on my second day no matter how much water I use. I’m going to give this a go & I don’t even care that there’s heat involved. I only have a cheapo curling wand though (you know the kind with the clamp? Old school hey lol) but if there’s hope I’ll upgrade later on haha. Thanks for sharing this ❤️

any curling wand will work, and thanks for watching :) let me know how you go xx

I think this technique could really work for me. It still ended up a bit fluffy, but I think with some practice with the curl wand & the right leave-in for the second day i will wear my hair curly more often cause I don’t have to wash every day. Thanks again

You are my kind of girl! Whatever works the fastest and most reliable! ha! I am doing the CG routine & I feel almost like I'm in prison but will continue on for alittle while longer. Its been 4 weeks but if it makes life harder, I can't like it! I am new to curly hair from straight hair. Don't know why it changed like it did but I like curl :) Thanks for sharing with us!

Looks Great! I've been trying to embrace my natural curls but some days find it just looks like a stringy mess...No volume, just waves. This gives me an option for when I want to look more polished. Thanks for the video.

a ton of curly girls will give you crap for the heat usage.. HOWEVER there really are combination hair curls out there! ( myself included) I have spiral curls in most areas but a few spots that are only wavy. If I don't use any heat ( curler or blowdry ) it will look so silly and not match! it literally looks like a got a bad perm and it did not take everywhere lol.. it has been this way since childhood. I can either make the curly hair straight to match or the straight hair gets a curl with an iron. I go with the iron because most of my hair is already curly. love your hair! I really like the look of dark eyes with blonde hair! you are just stunning!

I learnt this tip for you on the blog a few years ago Christina and it changed my hair game for good! I bought a small curling wand and it's made such a difference to my second day hair. One quick question, how do you prevent frizz at your roots? I always wake up with a halo of frizz at my roots, even with a satin pillow case and hair up in a clip. It's my number one hair problem!
@Hairromance6 жыл бұрын
oh thank you! It might be that your hair is dry and that's why it's becoming frizzy. You could try applying conditioner to the roots of your hair as this may help. For day 2/3/4 etc, a water based cream like the BB cream is great to smooth down your frizzies and combine them with the rest of your curls xx
@xMaria72x6 жыл бұрын
Hair Romance I’ll give conditioner on the roots a try. Thanks Christina! X

I am the same as you Belle Fille - I had a small wand that was really good and then got an upgrade as a Christmas present! Thanks for the refresh on second day hair @HairRomance...I needed to be reminded again as I became a bit lazy and was then wondering why it wasn't looking so good!!! Heat works for me too, but totally understand that it's not for everyone :)

Thanks for the tips! I tried to find tutorial of using wand over natural curls and I'm happy I found this one! Great tips and my hair looks great! wanted to know what is the long term results of using heat.. how can I prevent harm natural curls? thanks!

I always use a heat protectant, there will be some damage over time but I only use heat once or twice a fortnight so it's not a big deal xx

I used it few days ago for a friend's wedding and it was near the sea. The hair looked amazing but with the wind and humidity it was distroyed. How can keep the hair to stay as is although the humidity? Thanks!

Love your video's and your amazing hair! I have curl the top half of my hair as well because my hair on top isn't as curly as it is on the lower half of my head which are crazy ringlet's. Sometimes this is what you need to do to get an even curly look and I love it!

thanks so much for responding! and thanks in advance for those tips :) i've been wondering about hair color for a while because I want to get my color retouched before a beach vacation (roots grow out a lot) and I heard you should get it colored before the vacation but I also want nice hair for pictures on the trip. And I haven't seen that many videos on YT talking about preserving color at the beach! Thanks again, I really love your videos

Just began transitioning from short blow dry & flatironed hair. I have some natural curl & have purchased Deva products, but not sure if my hair is going to work appropriate yet. I want the hair like the cover of CG book! I’m just turning 69 & feeling frumpy & want to be stylish😜 Tried a Deva certified person but left with $40 of nothing but a flat mess, so disappointed.

Thanks for the tips Christina!! Any recommendations for similar products in the United States? I'm having a hard time finding the batiste styling products and the BB cream... Your curls are gorgeous! My curls tend to get really frizzy about halfway through day 2 even though I sleep on a satin pillowcase and pineapple my hair. This will definitely lead to more good hair days for me! Have an awesome day!

New subbie 😊 I enjoyed this and the result is fab. Personally I'm washing my hair about once a week - I don't put my head under the shower the other mornings, but use my wet hands to damp it down (I can feel the halo of frizz!) Then I've been using a little curl crème (Boots own here in UK) or a little gel to refresh, then a warm setting diffuse for no more than 5 minutes. I have a mix of curls, from ringlets through to a few stubbornly straighter sections at the front like yours - this has reminded me I gave the Lee Stafford chopstick curler a whirl which gives super corkscrew curls if that's what you like, so I'm going to dig it out to just adjust those couple sections! 👍
