Yes i used to do that (the wrong way), FL studio doesn't make it easy to use a sidechain signal in 3rd party plugins

Gebruik jij ook andere daw's in plaats van fl? Halverwege grote projecten krijg ik altijd latency problemen. wordt daar helemaal gek van. Vooral als ik veel sub bussen gebruik.

Yes ik heb in veel Daw's gewerkt waar ik dit probleem niet had, Studio One komt heel sterk over op dit gebied en Ableton kan er ook goed tegen, ik heb ook zeer vervelende problemen gehad in FL studio met kraak issues en CPU overloads... ze mogen dat programma welleens wat efficienter maken!

This is so fucking useful, thanks for you Fruitymasterz! Just few questions, i will label them a, b, c etc to make answering be more organised. A) The reverb and delay send channels you made in this video, would you be sending future instruments in this project to those sends? Or making new reverb and delay sends for the other instruments with maybe different reverb settings in valhalla? B) Just wondering if you can have to many different reverbs going can their outputs both clash in a negative way? Or does the sidechaining element remove any conflicts between them if the sidechain trigger is hitting at the same for numerous reverb sends? C) Sorry this is becoming an essay now, if you have multiple reverbs playing freely without the compression actively triggered, would it be beneficial to stereo widen each seperate reverb send output with different values so they all sit in different parts of the mix? Sorry for my English is not 100% IMO your tutorial style is best there is in youtube, very clear and precise instructions.

haha np, A. Yes, most of the times when i add new layers/leads i send them to a unique mixer channel and send it to the Leads bus, from there it already goes to the reverb/delay bus. However i only do this with layers that share the same midi/rhythm so it won't mess with the sidechain trigger. B. For the leads bus i use 1 delay and 1 reverb bus dedicated to only the leads, i never really use more than 1 of each but when i add another sound like a pad or bell i sometimes give them their own reverb bus and because that bus doesn't really have to be sidechained i can route anything else there unless i need a longer or shorter reverb. For sounds like these i prefer using the internal reverb but that doesn't always sound pretty. C. I usually don't have that much different reverbs but most of the times i turn the reverb pretty loud to hear what frequencies are giving me trouble, with internal reverbs you will be restricted to the parameters of the instrument but with a reverb bus you can do whatever you want. In my own reverb/chain preset i have set an eq to remove possible low frequenties and a stereo tool to widen it more, by making your reverb wider you'll most likely won't hear it in mono anymore but that's not a big issue. D. I'm pretty sure my own English is worse haha, great questions! Thanks for the compliments, i hope i could help you out with these answers.

What if I want to use sidechain compression and reverb sidechaining? Do I use the same channel on the mixer with 2 different Fruity Limiters or route it to a different channel again after the sidechain compression? And thanks now I have that song in my head.. I'm blue double dee double di😁

haha np xd... if you want to use both sidechain compression and sidechained reverb i suggest sending for example your leads, sidechained reverb and sidechained delay to a new bus and apply sidechain compression on that bus... it is however possible to use 2 limiters with diferent sidechain signals on the same track but i'd have to do a tutorial about that.

Can you tell me the principle of the reverb side chain? Because I saw that you just chords sidechain compression, why is this effect?

Basicaly when you sidechain your reverb you fill up the gaps between notes/chords... So when you hear a chord you hear no or a little bit of reverb but when there's a gap between chords you'll hear more reverb... sidechain compression gives you more controll over your reverb, it also makes it sound less messy and more powerfull.
