Good vid! My girl wants to hop on the back of my bike and I’ve kept telling her no because I’m not comfortable with it. Tomorrow I’m meeting up with a buddy of mine and we are going to practice in an empty parking lot and then in town. I want to get comfortable first before I have my girl get on. Good tips.

Another tip for everyone, if the operator of the motorcycle can barely tip toe the bike when stopped..it is not a good idea to have a passenger unless they plan on holding the clutch in whenever they come to a stop. Yeah the added weight will actually make it easier to plant your feet on the ground but not by much, lifting up the left foot to put the bike in 1st is wayy different with the added weight of the passenger and you can easily tip over especially if the motorcycle is heavy

Great video, info & insight. My husband just got a Ninja ZXR 650 (upgraded from a Honda Rebel) & he is a great operator. We rode around a lot yesterday and I kept sliding, especially with engine breaking... and kept wondering if I was riding correctly or if there's some trick. Looks like your friend is grasping your waist and the tank, much like I did. It's a lot of fun, just takes practice/getting used to and involvement. Knocking helmets seems unavoidable lol. Again thanks for this vid!

The "give throttle and release clutch as quick as possible" I disagree. I feel the best way to execute an uphill even when your'e by yourself is to pre throttle. So open the throttle a little more than you are used to on leveled surface AND then begin to release the clutch. You'll acclerate smoother and alot less likely to stall. Just my two cents. Stay smart on the road riders!
@irov5884
@irov5884 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, and keeping the rear brake while doing all of this so you don't go backward, and when the bike starts to move slowly because you released the clutch enough, then you can release the rear brake. This way you don't go backwards at the start. It's the same on manual cars by using the hand brake.

Great tips! I'm a new rider. Getting a Yamaha MT-03 this month! Would love to take my wife on it, but I'm going to first sharpen my own riding skill, and connection/intuition with THIS bike first. The thing I worry about is those real sharp tight turns. How do you tackle those? Will the bike want to tip more if I take those turns as if I was solo? Do I need to apply more throttle while trailing the rear break more with a passenger?
@Sportbikememace
@Sportbikememace Жыл бұрын
So taken a turn it depends a lot on the passengers, body weight and if they’re going to lean with you and how hard they lean sometimes you might have to counter lean you have to apply more throttle and also more break more throttle because of extra weight on the back of the bike and more break because of the weight in the back.. everything needs more when there’s more weight on the motorcycle.. but leaning depends a lot upon your passenger I always tell my passenger to lean with me not to lean against me meaning the opposite way

Feedback that I’ve gotten it’s hard to be comfortable on a sports bike for the mail who is riding or female. When he hit the throttle it pulls you back when he presses the break it pushes you forward. It’s gonna take time for you to get used to the way he rides and find your comfort zone.

@@Sportbikememace well gear is very important because you limit the degree of injuries a lot. Also it's cheaper than hospital bills. I've gone down with my bike wearing gear at 50 mph and came out uninjured. But from what I see in your video you're mainly riding around town so that should be alright.

@@Sportbikememace very true. It's a crazy dangerous activity. I mean it's obviously up to you if you wear gear or not. It's your pain in the end that could've been (at least partially) prevented. I think you know the risks so I don't have to try convincing you. Still what I think didn't come across: still a nice informative video. Ride safe mate.

@@Sportbikememace Not an excuse and a stupid argument that I hear way too often from riders. That’s like saying you won’t wear a seatbelt because it’s still possible to die in a car crash. That’s like saying you won’t cook or pasteurize your eggs because you could still get salmonella anyway. That’s like saying you won’t get life insurance because death is inevitable. The purpose of this stuff is to increase your odds of survival, not guarantee it. Don’t try to teach people things unless you’re going to follow the rules. You’re setting a horrible example for new riders and making yourself look like an absolute idiot to those who have experience. You’re too old to not understand such a simple concept, but then again, I see riders in their 60s with the same stupid ideology. AGATT.

If motorcycles are so worried about safety they shouldn't be Riding a motorcycle 🤣😂 A motorcycle is a death on 2 wheels. If you're afraid of dying get rid of your motorcycle. Gear can only protect you so much. When I need a mommy and daddy I'll call you. Everybody has a choice to wear gear or not. A motorcycle is not like a car A car has seatbelts and airbags I think you know about that.. People like you guys are going to make motorcycles terrible Very soon they'll put seatbelts on motorcycles and air bags.
