How to Ride Motorcycle | Slow Speed Maneuvers | Beginner Motorcycle | Learn to Ride Motorcycle

At the motorcycle safety course area practicing some slow speed maneuvers. We set up some cones on the markers and practice our weaving. We will practice throttle control, along with clutch control. We work on two different set ups in the video. This is a fun and educational video that is great for a beginner or anyone who wants to refresh their skills on a motorcycle.

Newbie myself and appreciate your videos. I just got a shadow 600 because as a newbie I couldn't insure ZZR600 with no experience. I have 2 small points. You should wear full safety gear. I know it was hot but you had no elbow armor if you fell. Second point is for slow manoeuvres my instructor would say you should always have foot on rear brake. I have heard this does not work on big Harleys and will curious to see with my Shadow when I get it next week. Getting good habit of keeping right foot up on brake peddle is thing I find toughest learning.

Hey, thanks for watching and welcome! I use the rear brake all the time on my big Road King. I practice it as much as I can in parking lots and at stop signs. It is the same principle on a small bike as a bigger bike. It’s a combination on clutch, brake, throttle for that slow speed control. Appreciate you watching!

You could pick up some crushable cones or cut some tennis balls in half to throw down in a parking to practice. I carried a set on the Shadow for quite a while.

It’s a lot different going to the course on a different bike from the little 250s, that’s for sure! It works nice to practice weaving and the slow speed maneuvers.

I wish they had one of those here but they have lines you can’t really see. But I don’t have a trailer to take bike on and take some cones and get back in to the grove because it’s been a while and I’m use to the small nimble bikes not my Honda shadow ace cruiser. But hopefully I’ll be able to get some one to go and help me out with remembering how to do that and give me pointers on my bigger bike.

Yeah, if you can get some small training cones and have someone ride your bike to a parking lot, that would be a great way to practice. I found some small crushable style cones on Amazon a few years back that I bust out once in a while to do some drills. Some people cut tennis balls in half as well. Then you can get some practice in. I’m legal to ride I’ve just never rode a bike like this Honda so ace. It’s just after then what I am use to I’m use to the 650’s and Rebel 500 bikes and I can do all of that on them. But As I said the guy before me put 4imch exstintions on it and I had to sit on the gas tank every stop every shift I had to get off tank. But they layed ft down twice and it pulls harder to left. And it’s going to need tires fast because they are gone not without struggling.8but everything is back stock now it awesome to ride. But it’s finding a good person to go riding is

Once you get that new rubber on and start getting out more, you will start meeting people on motorcycles and find riding friends. You could also hang around some of your local dealers to make some motorcycle friends so to say as well.

You should line the cones up in a straight row then ride over them... just to see how far they would fly. 😏

You have to remember that thay do it on 250’s not 750’s you are luck you have a course I don’t where I live

It’s definitely easier on the 250’s. The 750 gets to speed a little faster. It is definitely nice to be able to go ride on it from time to time.
