Hotness! What are your favorite lures that have these motions for them finicky bass?
@Tbowie133 жыл бұрын
I know this is an older video, but a double fluke rig works great. It mimickes a couple shad mirroring each other, how they do in real life. I make the shorter of the two lines on a swivel so it slides on the main line above the swivel for the lower fluke. And I put one on a superfine hook and one on a regular egg of the same size as the superfine hook. That way, one runs lower and the other higher...it works very well. At times, if you get into a school of bass, you'll hook up with fish on both flukes! That one sliding swivel makes it so they don't pull against each other and break off. Anyhow, good video buddy, good fishing to ya!

no problem man! the past 2 years I have been exploring the Kreh's Loop knot. It was until this year when I learned my mistake of tying it is when it just BOOMED and allowed me to get more fish. I will give this lure and knot more time this fall season to showcase how much fish you can catch on it. I know i have done it this spring for snakehead and bass, but I have a feeling this fall will be BANGING! thx for watching!

Thanks for the video brother. I'm in Columbus Ohio but I am hoping to move to Florida so I can fish all season long. Peace

Oh yeah. If u put the plastic into a box, the box is plastic too. Oils from other plastics that were in that box can also speed up melting. I always keep it in the original bag lol. Wish you the best on the move and enjoy the fishing life!

you can fish the fluke like a senko, but you can fish the fluke better than a senko when you use it to actively search for fish! it is a killer fall lure if you use bait colors like white and shad !

Great video, Jimmy! The loop knot, in particular, is a great tidbit. Do you ever fish the fluke with an octopus hook through the head? (Usually, you put one of those screw things in the head first and then put the hook through that). The idea, if you're not aware, is that fish generally will take the head in it's mouth first. I think for largemouth this really doesn't achieve anything but other species it does.
@rawrfishing6 жыл бұрын
thx Mike, oh that's pretty cool. I may try something like that this fall when the weeds dies down a bit. How how do you keep the twist lock on the hook?
@fett20026 жыл бұрын
bury the twist lock into the head of the fluke til it's almost flush and then use an octopus hook through the eye of the twist lock.
@rawrfishing6 жыл бұрын
gotcha! i'll give it a shot one day!
@FlatOutBankAngling6 жыл бұрын
First off I want to say.... love that jersey! Great video Jimmy. I have always carried flukes but I have not caught a fish on them. I have become a better angler the last couple of years so I have more faith in myself. So I have some flukes I will be using in the next couple of weeks. Most shad colored ones. I think with fall coming up the shad colors should be good. Tight lines
@rawrfishing6 жыл бұрын
that jersey is certainly awesome! I love the outdoors and I love fishing and with that said, I must protect myself from the outdoor elements. Mosquito and harmful UV rays got nothing on me when i wear my Gillz gears ;). yes that'll be perfect for fall! if you need to fish it deeper, try using a split shot or use swimbait hooks with the twistlock and the weight molded onto the shank of the hook!

Have a lot of luck with them ? I haven't used them yet but I have tremendous success with the Berkeley gulp alives and they look similar.
@rawrfishing6 жыл бұрын
oh yeah, they have been one of my favorite lures since back in my teens, and that's 20 years ago!. Gulp does make a similar one for sure. Bass Assassin, Strike King, Keitech, you name it! the soft plastic jerkbait been proven so successful that there are literally every big company out there with some sort of variation.
@rawrfishing6 жыл бұрын
even if you stick with Gulp, you can certainly utilize the Loop knot to have better action :)
@104silvae6 жыл бұрын
The first bass i caught on the fluke was on the drop. Casted it and my line started to run, set the hook and got my first fluke bass. Second fluke bass was way cooler because it followed in the fluke, it was following its every move until the fluke went in the shadows and the bass destroyed it. Flukes are super fun. Personal favorite is the fluke jr in shad or pearl color.

how did u feel to set hook for snakehead fishing when this fluke is in subsurface area. just make some compairetive clip on fluke in weedy area subsurface vs topwater frog. which one get more strike for snakehead. here in India we don't have bass fish
@rawrfishing5 жыл бұрын
i usually watch if i fish sub surface. you can always see them snatch it! i set the hook immediately then. I can certainly consider doing that for next season as I haven't targeted snakehead much this year. They are invasive around my area and they have been the hot target species, so they are hit pretty hard. In my opinion, early spring time fluke will always be better than frog lures!
@AnubhavAnkitGeorge5 жыл бұрын
why i m asking u my friend because here in India people use live mole cricket as hook bait and snakehead take this bait in more number 6-9piece whereas we get on topwater frog 1-2 snakehead a day so i think fluke may work well but i don't know when to set the hook kindly make some clip on youtube soon there is no video as such thank u
@rawrfishing5 жыл бұрын
@@AnubhavAnkitGeorge no doubt. I have way more luck with the weightless fluke as it's a smaller profile than the frog and because you can fish it top, subsurface or even at the bottom. Early spring i have use soft plastic craws and drag/bounce at the bottom and still catch some good snakeheads. In the summer, this is also the case for deeper water near stumps and fallen trees. I just fish them like i fish for bass. Topwater fishing is great because you can see the action, but in reality, you catch more doing other method of fishing. tightlines and thanks for watching!

Believe it or not, flukes work really well for trout. In my area, there's big brook trout that like to hide in timber. You're not going to get to them with a normal jerkbait, and if you do, they'll hang you up. I've caught 5" trout on 4" flukes as well. They've got pretty big mouths, so it's no problem hooking them with a #1 worm hook.
@rawrfishing6 жыл бұрын
