Really it's just an intrinsically safe pump. A few extra things can be added to get a higher purity solvent recovery. Edit. I speak of active up top. Passive has a loss due to having some hydrocarbon still dissolved in the product. It's how you create a temperature difference in the system of passive rigs to get a better solvent recovery. Still have to purge it though. Gas law and theory really apply here, but only the basic principles... for this part and application. I'm a chemist.

Nice that the one you demo is zero'd out but the one you get wont be.. mine wasn't. no instruction manual either. Also told me it came with the small green tank but as you can see here and as it used to show on the site (use wayback machine) comes with this 30 tank. Had to fight for that. All in all it was a pretty crappy purchase experience.

I could not agree more. By the time I recieved mine it cost $7200.00 Canadian (1lb extractor and oven) BVV claims it's stainless steal. I beg to differ. To cut costs I bet there is aluminum in the mix. Bad welds and when you bring it before bvv with videos and pics, They ignore or won't respond to phone calls or text. I guess where I am in Canada it's OK to deliver there lemons. I am in the process of posting on cannabis forums to not buy from bvv. Liars and crooks

Where can those solvent tanks with the liquid and vapor valves be purchased? They're guaranteed not to have manufacturing oils inside? My guess is from a refrigeration shop, and the LP or butane from a welding gas supplier.

@pisopicado6373
@pisopicado6373 3 жыл бұрын
@@djlansing I have a manufacturing / machinist background. Any residual oils from when the metal was formed or the threads tapped would be dissolved in your solvent and ultimately end up in your product after you open the liquid valve. Some searching shows this as a refrigerant recovery tank. If I get one I'll likely rinse with ethanol first to be certain.

Now if I make this portable how would I ground it? I'm thinking a ground on the tank and the vacuum pump and closed system let me know what I can do thanks
@Jmarosii
@Jmarosii Жыл бұрын
@diglettunnel.kaneko You'll want to ground the CLS by one of the NPT ports on the collection base using an alligator clamp. As long as the rest of your system is connected via a stainless steel hose, it all should be grounded. The stainless steel hoses transfer the grounding from vessel to vessel. But to make the system portable you would need to put a metal stake in the ground and then bond the stake to the CLS to make it actually grounded.

What's the purpose of using a vacuum on a closed loop BHO abstractor. Can't you just fill with material with bottom valve closed. Put the top seal on with open valve. Blast the butane to fill the column. Shut off the top valve, wait for 5 minutes. Then open the bottom valve into a collector.
@Jmarosii
@Jmarosii Жыл бұрын
@Scorpios Lab the vacuum is to remove the atmosphere from the system and bring the base into a vacuum. The vacuum base will assist with collecting the solvent bearing resin into the collection base. Since this is a closed unit, we want to minimize the chance for a vapor lock.

So I have a butterfly valve set up an when I go to soak my material the butane won’t flow until I open the valve to my collection plate also ? Should I heat my recovery tank will that push it through or is there something I’m doing wrong
@Jmarosii
@Jmarosii 2 жыл бұрын
@BlmmersAnBudz When a CLS is under vacuum, the negative pressure pulls the butane into the system. The material column holds a small amount of the butane. Your column is likely full. It would help if you opened the in-line ball valve to allow the negative pressure in the collection vessel to act on the material column. When you open the valve on your LP tank & valve in the system to input gas, grab ahold of the hose. Do you feel the solvent moving through it? You do not want to heat your LPG tank. Instead, dry ice on the collection vessel keeps the collected butane a liquid, maintaining a constant vacuum. Feel free to give us a call at (331) 281-0154 to talk with a tech.

@@Jmarosii I was doing a distill on my butane when I tried this an I have a sight glass so Ik the column wasn’t full my collection vessel was in dry ice an alcohol super cold but my column was same temperature as my butane tank so I’m thinking that maybe that’s y it wouldn’t run to the cold until I opened that second valve to my collection pot as the column wasn’t cold I was gonna try again once I ran material through the column an super chilled it I think that will help with pulling butane to the material column before I open my actual collection vessel
@Jmarosii
@Jmarosii 2 жыл бұрын
@BlmmersAnBudz Make sure to keep your collection pot cooler than the material column. The butane will want to stay in the column if it becomes cooler than the base (if the column has more negative pressure than the collection pot).

Buy from extractorsolutions.com they have better clamps & they're cheaper because they're a little guy company in Cali. This Apollo system doesn't even have a ball valve up under the material column... It's not necessary--but I guess they're just trying to save costs. I love having a ball valve on mine so that the material can soak. They have a contact number on their website that goes directly to the owner/operator Aleks. P.s. if you make a fair offer on any one of his kits he will be willing to do business for less than his listed prices
