The Slide and Hook concepts would be a great concept to demonstrate in my opinion. The Hook and Hook Special is in every level and nearly every offensive scheme, but I don’t see the Slide or it’s variants very often.

kevin gilbride showed me 4 years ago how the giants used the basics of the run n shoot to win both super bowls and in the second win over pats they used victor cruz to maximize his skill set.

@@CoachMcKie they used victor cruz like you would use the slot in the R&S victor had the option route from the slot and as the isolated receiver he had 4 different options.. its amazing how much hold over the R&S has in some of todays offenses ..Julian eddlman basically runs a get open (option route) on 95% of the pats plays i've had a recent conversation with Dan Robinson and half jokingly told him his and Andrew coverdales book on the bunch offense is found in 80% of the pats compressed and bunch formations

I like the idea of sliding the line either towards or away from the primary read based on what type of route we want to throw first. Generally if it is a faster throw (Out/Quick Hitch etc) then I slide towards it and use the RB on the Backside as they tend to interrupt the passing window.

Do not forget the umbrella routes with the main route: Go Swap, Go Special, Go Flood, Go Even, Go Hook (Backside tagged), and Gun Empty Go with multiple backside combinations

Coach isn't GO Hook just Hook with number 3 on a arrow route? Also never heard of Go Unbrella can you please explain that route I would like to add that to my run and shoot notes?

@@IRON5 Basically it is all the routes I just mentioned. It is just a saying as having multiple backups to the main concept. Now, as far as Go Hook, yes you can tag the front side, but you can also tag the backside receiver on a Hook route as well.

Bootlegs and sprints are absent in great numbers. Play variety with tempo plays like these being successful. Control the defenses personal sub packages by punishing them when in wrong situation. Run on coverage personal by setting up the play before.

Choice, Choice Special, Choice Even, Mark Poston does a choice route TO the trips side (different and very effective). Slide, Slide swap, Slide corner, Slide even. Switch, Switch Smash, Mesh Switch, The READ concept, WALL, Hook, Hook Special, Smash, FAN, and good old STREAK!

What are the Wall and Fan packages? How would a time up from under center as opposed to shotgun?

@@IRON5 Wall is a triple In or a triple slant at 5 yards so you can sneak the Superback into the flat on a shoot route to the trips side. goaline play and short yardage for sure. also, Fan, is as Follows: X Switch Wing Drag Y Shoot and Z Go and opposite is X Go Wing Shoot Y Drag and Z Switch. The shoot is always best from under center...and I also like it from Pistol.

I like the protection of half slide, but, don't understand why you would half slide on a rollout rather than the five man pull and gate with the F setting the edge, the play side tackle setting his block off the F, the play side guard off that tackle and so on. When setting their position they insure to block inside and assist the man towards the LOS. Why would you not do that instead of five man zone or man block or five man slide?
