Just so you know "the exploit" is not an exploit at all lol. The most they could do is nerf experience gains to not happen when the vendor has no money. But that would only happen if people who have no experience with economics start complaining loudly and doesn't really "fix" anything. Price manipulation / fixing has been a thing since currency was invented. Selling at a loss / flooding markets is a real and very effective strategy if you know how those resources end up getting used.

I actually ground my way up to Trade 300 semi-recently with conventional "trail trading" only (...some global trading thanks to cheap Battanian wood). It... wasn't all that bad with a large retinue, tbh. Think grand total of less than 10 ingame years, including two years where I didn't do much of anything, so... maybe 7 to 8 if you're more efficient than me at it. That said, this method sets you up for more in the future than mine, so... not a bad way to go.

@@Awesomewithaz I'm usually a horse archer, yeah. Solid playstyle all around, though horse crossbowman is looking a bit appealing recently. I've actually gotten two different characters up to Trade 300 before, first one was pretty much all horses like you're saying and took... well over a decade, think maybe two. Long enough Caladog died of old age. Second one where I didn't *touch* horses and focused on movement speed took half the time at most. I think I could speed that up to 6-7 years if I go almost exclusively cavalry and stuck with a Battanian character.

Hal, I have an idea for a trader campaign. So basically, get a monopoly on one of the workshop goods. In my playthrough, a brewery was the most profitable so I'll use it as an example. Purchase all the breweries with the biggest profit but leave one workshop slot. Then travel through Calradia and change the breweries into something else, it doesn't matter what exactly, as long as they're not breweries anymore. At some point, there will be no other breweries except for yours and viola! You have monopoly on beer. From previous experience, I managed to get around 500~450 denars per brewery! Though I'm not sure if it's going to work on newer versions
@shark39222 жыл бұрын
and i have almost 1k dinars for brewery.. other side of this - beer price is gone to 350 when no breweries. with author idea put all workshops in world to brewery, stock beer, then change breweries, wait for price and sell to caravans.

That level of scamming should have instantly brought you to Roguery level 200 Personally to get to level 300 I just obtained an overabundance of desert and Aserai horses and circled mostly the western side of the map (at 2.1 speed) until the prices rose significantly enough to make 200-1000 denar profit per horse. The "Filled to the Brim" perk from Riding, "Arenicos' Horses" from Steward sure help, if you can get Steward that high by that point. Not sure if the "Local Connection" perk from trade applies to horses as well as any other animal or if it just on its own, but if it does..more money.

Everytime I come back to play bannerlord I end up spending a day and a half just watching Halcylion, so I know which tips are no longer relevant from last years playthrough and learn new tips about how the game works this year. I just wish they would allow us to passively reach 275 trade with caravans and workshops and then makes us grind the last 25, I really hated running around Calradia for 25 years trade nuking every town while trying to secure my place in a kingdom. By the time I unlocked the perk last time, I had just a few years to play hot potato with castles and towns until I got the ones I wanted and then died of old age, allowing my son to inherit them, and finally I could start playing the game... Unfortunately I spent too much time trading and by that time the kingdom I had joined was on its last legs and those castles and towns my son inherited were lost as Battania was hung drawn and quartered by the other kingdoms. I don't think I'm going to use this exact method from the video, it is far too complex and if I wanted to commit crimes against humanity I'd play some Rimworld, but there are some gems in there I can use to speed up my grind significantly. I'm going to experiment with supply chain shenanigans, although dates are an odd trade item they might be a gold mine if you wipe out supply successively and hoard them, then dump them onto every caravan and town you see, with the recent economy changes I can see supply and demand playing a much more exciting role in trade.

what I found works and this works if you have wemod active is the inventory number does not decrease cheat which you need at least 2 or more items in your inventory and as long as it does not drop to zero or do it smartly with it there to retain it after doing that drop the price of all items in a town to such low levels that you can only dream of net you the cash if you space it out enough turn off that cheat buy the stuff at that one city dirty cheep and sell it in any other city for easy trade xp since the price in the one city you did that in had goods for such low levels (i got it as low in the single digits even to almost low as 2 to 1 coin for food products) making profits is easy but also over time the other merchents will buy the stuff and spread it out through the land especally if you have done massive food drops to get it up in to the hundreds of thousands range they will buy it at 100 each and drop it off in each town to ensure that it will keep the prosperity up on the slow but gradual swing for a long time to come and a massive surge in quick sucession at the city you dumpped the food at. :)

Unfortunately, the last step where you reduce a town's loyalty to zero by buying out all their food stocks and waiting for them to get pissed off just doesn't work anymore. The absolute second you buy out all their food, villagers or a caravan will enter the town and just sell everything they have in terms of food, often completely refilling their food supplies within seconds. It can take a few solid days for the loyalty to deplete from no food, and yet in the space of one day, 20-30 villagers/caravans can enter the town and sell their food to the town. I've tried buying out the freshly supplied food the moment they receive it before the town has a chance to eat any of it, but it just takes so damn long. Too frustrating to do. I spent almost an hour doing this and I almost ran out of money =(

Enemy morale has been improved in a recent patch and now they'll fight almost until the very end. What I do to rob them is hit them hard and fast, stick close to the enemies (archers usually, when I rob caravans) and when you hear someone scream something like "I'm not dying here right now!", IMMEDIATELY order all your men to stop shooting and move away, so the enemy cowards survive. Escort the runners to the edge of the battlefield, and when they're out of harm's way, tell your men to resume the fighting.

I don’t understand why you get trade skills by selling items to the near by village. Does the profit they make count as your profit?
@Halcylion2 жыл бұрын
Skill is developed by potential profit, which you can see reflected on the village's side with a -1000000 or something like that. In a city, prices of items drop the more you sell, but in a village (or at caravans) the price stays the same, and in the village, your potential profit is the highest. Perhaps they've fixed this, but even if they didn't, you actually lose a lot of money if you do it. It's something I only recommend if you don't care about the money and just want to save the time.

It's an exploit (IRL, the people could barter with the equipment for some grain, and simply refuse to sell to you any more IRL, and ask for help from others, perhaps resulting in a coalition and subsequent punishment against you), but it's also a just reward in a videogame that eats time and craps out dopamine or whatever the reward stuff is.
@Halcylion2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately for the people of the town, Caravaneers are not interested in equipment, because they will sell it for half the price, and then whatever profit they made from the overpriced grain would amount to nothing.. therefore, there's no incentive for them to do so.

So basically, just speaking in terms of "Trading levels" and disregard gold completely, I can just sell whatever is profitable to caravans and villages. Nice!
@tsk5328 Жыл бұрын
I dont think this is an exploit. my definition of a exploit is exploiting the games limitations and bugs to get an advantage that the ai cannot gain within the rules of the world. the carvans are coming to this town for the same reason as you, only difference is you have first movers advantage and are controlling the market they are coming to. the starving towns folk would be buying weapons as a city in this situation would be beset by waves of banditry and crime as its citizens start robbing each other to get food or in hopes of joining any war band where they hope to get paid and fed. If i was a dev for this game and saw this I would immediately put it into the code that bandit parties start spawning from starving towns that have weapon stockpiles (and decrease the armoury size and residential pop of course) to simulate people turning to banditry in desperation. so yeah, fair and brilliant +1 sub.

The exploit relies on real world market mechanics. So trying to patch it will make the economy nonsensical.
@Halcylion2 жыл бұрын
The only "exploit" in my method is the caravan scamming, which I rationalize like this: "Caravaneers hear about the lengthy siege, their eyes turn into dollar signs at the prospect of huge profits and they all ride out to sell their wares into the besieged town... But when they arrive at the gates, an army of 300 blocks their path. They try to squeeze their way in, because they know that the kingdom they belong to is at peace with the men blocking the gate, but as they try to walk in, the leader of the army approaches the caravan master and tells him: *I'm not letting you in unless you buy this grain. Don't worry, you'll still make a profit inside* . The caravan master doesn't really believe that, but what he believes even less is that he'll survive after refusing the murderer blocking the gates. So he pays an exorbitant fee, and when he's allowed inside... of course nobody can buy any of his items, because the rogue took all of their money. The caravan waits inside for a bit, hoping that someone sneaks them some money without anyone noticing, but it's all in vain; the rogue trader is too efficient in running his scam." If you are referring to the iron exploit however, that can be fixed without breaking the economy by just keeping the ore as an actual trade good with fluctuating value... And separating the crude, wrought and forged iron, as well as the steel, fine steel and thamaskene into 6 separate categories. Maybe also separate coal from wood, and then, give these smithing materials a fixed value that have no relation to each other or the iron ore. There's an item in the game called "spice", which has the exact price in all towns, so the devs can use that code to give smithing materials a fixed value. And that's how you fix the exploit without breaking your game's economy.

@@Halcylion I was referring to the iron one. But the quantity of one form of iron has to be related to the other due to their similarities, so their price must be related as well.

QUESTION....Is there a way to arrange a marriage for a vassal? (specifically a companion turned into a vassal) Loving the vids bud!!!
@Halcylion2 жыл бұрын
You can only arrange a marriage for your family members: brother, sister, children... Your vassals will probably make their own choices of who to marry, when the time is right.

is this game good?
@Halcylion2 жыл бұрын
Good or not is subjective. My honest opinion is that this game is good, but flawed, and not living up to its full potential. Mods (which I don't personally use but heavily recommend) can get it closer to that potential, if you have the patience to install them. One thing that's objectively true is that this game is not for everyone. It's best if you watch some recent reviews or let's plays to help you form your own opinion.

How to reach "Trade 300" Step 1: Reach "Trade 275" ....
@Halcylion2 жыл бұрын
250 is enough, if you're efficient. Besides, going 250-300 takes as much time as going 0-250, if you do it normally, so this method still shaves off half of your grind... If you do it just once. But nothing stops you from doing it 5 times and going 0-300 in a few hours. :)
@LtVadim2 жыл бұрын
@@Halcylion Just joking)) I actually reached 300 Trade in one of my runs (without abusing sieges). Turned out to be not as exciting as it looked beforehand. Lots of blacksmithing of elite-grade 2H-swords and lots of running around trying to find anyone who still owns anything. The game bugged and I couldn't even get married. So I became a sort of Mr. Scrooge.

This is how I conquered Calradia in patch 1.4, but since then, giving lords overpriced swords has been nerfed.

@@Halcylion Not as much as you'd think. I tried a (failed) playthrough where I used a similar version of that tactic. Ultimately worked. Grind out a few dozen swords (Broad Two Hander Blade, Winged Bronze Guard, Tall Plated Grip, Simple Wheel Pommel aka "Steel Winged Broadsword" for 13253 each using 2 or 3 Steel and 3 Fine Steel), then "harvest" the wealth of nations. Think it pulls about 1m every month, so that's about a city every half a year or so, or a couple of castles. Playthrough failed because I forgot about this thing called "recruiting lords", so got ran over by the Khuzaits, but if I'd found a way to marry a sibling into Monchug's family, wouldn't have happened anyway.

@@Halcylion It's two factions I'm going to war with. I went to war with the Aserai. I have a question, if I have not settlements, do I need to pay less in tributes? Edit: Like if I ask for peace, will they demand less or do I have to raid over and over until they give up?

@@Halcylion Oh, perfect. I'm so fucking dumb XD betrayed the southern empire and took Husn Fulq with me. The Aserai went to war with me too. No amount of save scumming saved me. In total I've paid 300k+ just to keep one town and one castle. Imma let thr Aserai take Husn Fulq, then sue for peace once tribute is low. Then do the same thing with the Southern Empire.
