@layle131 Жыл бұрын
If u oil ur scalp a lot its best to use a clarifying shampoo to get rid of all the oil, sebum and dirt build up. Say if you’ve had ur box braids for like 2 months n you’ve been oiling frequently, then use a clarifying shampoo, but if u havent and u wash ur hair bi-weekly or weekly its best to use a moisturizing/nourishing shampoo. 😊

how come your hair doesn't catch or tangle on the brush, especially since it's fairly dry? that is my problem. i can't even run the brush straight through my hair. no matter how many times i do it there is breakage, snags, knots, tangles.
@kimmcfadden76792 жыл бұрын
I'll tell you probably why... Your hair is probably not moisture-trained.

@@kimmcfadden7679 what does moisture-trained mean? i shampoo and deep condition my hair every week. i use a steam cap.
@francenegayle38662 жыл бұрын
@@kimmcfadden7679 do explain this concept
@kimmcfadden76792 жыл бұрын
For example, I have extremely low porosity hair and I live in an extremely dry climate so on shampoo day I make sure my hair is soaking wet. I actually first rinse out my hair under the faucet in the tub with very warm water and I use my palms and smooth my hair with my hands then I put plastic cap on my hair and let it sit for about 10-15 minute, I shampoo, rinse, conditioner, rinse & apply Carol's Daughter Hair Milk shake it out and then apply Kinky Curly knot Today & then style it. During the week if my hair feels dry I apply some water on the ends and twist it up at night in big chunks.
@jones22772 жыл бұрын
@@kimmcfadden7679 Thank you for the reply. How does this work for high-porosity hair? I used to spritz and spray in between shampoos until I learned about hygral fatigue, which is a damaging condition that happens when your hair is chronically oversaturated. Maybe this isn't really an issue for those with low-porosity hair since you're trying to let moisture in, whereas high-porosity hair is about keeping the moisture in. Regarding steam, I only use it when I deep condition. I am also a fan of Knot Today.
