My greatest GPU budgeting tip: pay attention to price to performance above all else. It will will save loads of money in the long run beyond just paying for the name or the rgb the card has.

Am told by another KZbin channel creator the GPU you go for should be x2 the cost of your CPU. That's RRP prices so for example an Intel i5 13500 costs £240(at Scsn) you would pair it with a 3060 ti GPU which costs around £500-ish..

If you are piecing a budget pc, I’d say at least get a really good quality monitor first and then buy your parts slowly over time, that way you can maximize your experience and it will last you longer than your GPU and CPU if you get a decent 1440p 240hz monitor for like $360

1080 is OK up to 24in after that you deff want 1440, and above 27in it helps a lot to increase the resolution. You can play on a lot less tho.
@johng4357
@johng4357 Жыл бұрын
It's all dependent on the games you want to play. Racing games look way better on 1440p (with the upgraded monitor of course) and so £200 extra on a £600 pc is worth it imo. 4k however is probably diminishing returns. Older hardware on the motherboard / CPU side tho i do agree, generally you aren't going to be CPU bound so it's pointless spending loads there. A 5600x is a great little CPU, even a 3600x is pretty decent for most games. Going higher in resolution (to 1440p for example) also generally takes load off the CPU in terms of supplying high rates so even less reason to spend more here. And then a £30 air cooler is plenty. Last thing, on the case, just get one with a mesh front and at least 2 fans if not 3 pre installed as case suppliers pay much less for fans then a consumer would so it's way cheaper than buying separately.

First time getiing a proper gaming PC shortly. Going to nab myself a cheap AM5 setup (thinking Ryzen 5 7600X with a B650 motherboard) but then hold off on the GPU to see what goes cheap if the cryptocrash comes etc. Thinking RTX 3070 but will go higher if better GPUs come down in price over winter.

I am a the crest of My wave...It started in lock down, I have watched 100's of dcs videos and I decided last year to not go down the PlayStation path and intact build, buy a pc. I have over this year bought hotas joystick and pedals off ebay, a 3 led headteacher. Converted a ps3 eyecam with xray film to only see the I.R. Leds. I even bought some modules from DCS... Now with mu humble 1000 pounds I have been dreaming of parts, re creating build after build. Watching many of Marcus's videos and his fellow tubers from across the world. 2 days ago I stopped looking....the reason is Black Friday/ Cyber Monday they are only weeks away (ok its still September) but this is my thought process, i am wanting the best gpu and ram prices everything else as long as its fits and works will be ok. I could press confirm purchase on amazon, ebuyer, scan and overclocker and the likes and be good to go by the weekend. I am hopeful that I can get to 3060ti 3070 area with this tactic....Will I fail who knows but if I did buy right now, would I also be kicking myself if I didn't wait that little bit longer.....

I think for most people the only PCI-E slot on the motherboard a card is going to fill is a GPU. A lot of people won't be installing any other kind of card(unless you want faster ethernet or better sound or more m.2 storage). I think the only reason a lot of people would want a full size ATX motherboard is if they want more m.2 slots. Thing is though most will only install 2 or maybes 3 at most, if they want more storage maybes a HDD would be better for them. In this case they would be better off buying a micro ATX board. And if they aren't going to be overclocking a B660 or B760 board would be good enough for their needs or the AMD versions(which I don't know what they are called). And if they are going for a non overclockable Intel board they probably be better off with a non K version CPU and saving a bit of cash there too. I went for a B760 MATX board and an Intel 13500 CPU(I don't think I need a more powerful CPU for my needs). Most for gaming will be fine if a 750 or 850 watt PSU at the present point in time unless they are going for a 4090(but who has the best part of £2000 to burn?).

Sadly, you can't get a system like that for under £1000 from pcs now. The Falcon 60 isn't on the site, but doing my best to use the same components, I get it to £1,034 and that's with 2666MHz ram and a stock cooler. Doing some jumping around I found that the ram and cooler in your example system would hike the price to £1077. The overall point that you are making is sound though.

@michaelthompson9798 Жыл бұрын
Yes your items should be compatible 🥰😇👍 Just double check the Arctic Freezer II has Intel Socket 1700 brackets included or can be supplied by the retailer etc to complete your build 😇🥰👍! 1) Are you overclocking? …. If so go with Z690 chipset …. If not, stick with B660 chipset 👍😇. Also, will you be utilising the e-cores of the 12600K? If not, than I suggest save a few dollars and go with the 12400 🤩 2) if you want to save a little more cash …. then look at the MSI Mortar (M-ATX) motherboard as it’s pretty much the same vrm setup and features on a slightly smaller motherboard format and in many regions can save you a few $£€. 3) if you can get the 980 Pro on a good deal it’s great …. But if your just gaming on the NVME drive and NOT any production work such as video editing / Adobe Premier etc …. Stick with a decently priced and performing Gen 3 NVME drive and upgrade the capacity. If video editing etc is a high priority for you, than yes, stick with a Gen 4 drive.💪🥰 4) Ensure your psu is from a reputable brand to deal with the RTX 3000 series power spikes (under gaming loads etc)! Cheap psu’s can be nasty and not handle such a high performing GPU 💪🤯

Rule #1: don't upgrade every year. Rule #2: upgrade every 5-6 year. Rule #3: only upgrade if power consumption is almost on par with your current cpu and performance is higher by 30%+.

Everytime I go into a pc custom option in websites, I end up making monsters than will probably blow up. On a side note, what if you run your computer open air? I seen you do it for test. What's the point of a case and fans if you can just do that, other than the obvious thing that is vulnerable to something hitting it. But if your careful What's the big deal

Mainly dust, the glass panels and dust filters exist for a reason and will probably keep your pc from choking on kilograms worth of dust.
@sidepiece8344
@sidepiece8344 Жыл бұрын
@@Paradeperson69420 also easier to clean an open air build. Twist tie the fans and spray it out with electronics duster and go over it with a small vacuum with a brush attachment. Takes 5 minutes tops. When you have it enclosed in a case you have to take all the dust filters out to clean them and clean the glass. You have to clean an open air build more frequently but it's so much easier

it doesnt have to be expensive.... i think i have the worst luck with pc's... bought a pre-built so i can upgrade as i go... $800 (ON SALE 3 -4 years ago pre-covid.) ... upgraded my psu ($160) for my 5700xt ($600)... had to get 2 sticks of ram because it came with only 8bg of random ram($90). then the ram was no good. needed more ram because one went bad. they didnt sell 1 stick of the same kind with same mhz, so i bought another set ($90). needed a cpu fan to draw heat out ($65).... after the warranty expired... on my 5700xt.... it broke shortly after.... so im back with my little kick ass rx580 :) so what started off as an $800 computer onsale... turned out to be close to $1,800 and i dont get to use the gpu... :) yay. lol thats my story glad you tuned if have a good day if you didnt...

Yeah I’ve dealt with similar with my psu. Now I have to either keep it and limit myself of what gpu, cpu and other specs I use, or completely buying a whole expensive one, all because of lack of knowledge. It’s like we might aswell should of just tried building one ourselves from the start.

...GPU...the most annoying thing rn, rtx 3060 ti is ~100 bucks cheaper then 3070, but the 3070 doesnt give that much more of an improvement, 3070 ti is closer to 3070 then 3080(not in middle like the others) and 3080 is too expensive 😭. Really in a dilemma

Hey is anyone able to help me? I got off my pc to take a break got back on and it turns on for about 10-15 seconds then shuts off, when I take my ram out it starts just fine and runs longer then what it would with the ram stick in, is this a sign I need a new ram or is there another reason?
@JJFlores197
@JJFlores197 Жыл бұрын
Remove all RAM modules. Install the module that appears to be bad and power on your PC. Does it work normally? If not, then the problem is most likely with that module and it will need to be replaced.

I would say 128 gb m.2 and a 1 tb sata ssd. Sata ssd (1 tb) can be had for about 45 bucks now. Much cheaper than a 1 tb m.2 even with ths 128 gb m.2 which go for about 20ish dollars.
