但是 = but 可是 = however 却 = , however, example: "I am going. He, however, is not." 不过 = but How would you translate: Yet? Still? Nevertheless? Though? Although = 虽然 Albeit? 竟然？ 虽然 ... 但是 is "although ... nevertheless" I constantly search for parallel structures and cognates in language learning and am a polyglot and recommend that method strongly.

You are translating directly from English. English and Chinese are two very different languages. 很好课但是 == 这堂课教得很好，可是 如果老师用很大汉子，就学神会比好学了。== 如果老师汉字能用大一点的字体，学生学起来就容易多了。
