괜찮은 사람인 것 같아요. = He/she seems like a good person.
다른 사람들을 잘 챙겨 줘요. = He/she is nice to other people.
친절해요. = He/she is kind.

This was a very useful lesson on a topic that I had recently wondered about. But I am still unclear about how to express that one person deeply admires another’s goodness. For example, when you know of someone who sacrifices a lot of their time to help others and they show a lot of empathy and warmth in general, how can you say that? In English we might say “good” with a lot of emphasis on the word and then add detailed description. Or we add some words like “he’s a genuinely good person” or “she is such a good person inside.”

I think I can se "친절하다" to write a thank you card to a very friendly and patient ajusshi who runs a stationary store near my dorm, yeah? Like "Thank you for always being kind" He's always so nice and has a smile, and tries to make conversation despite knowing basically no English, and me not knowing much Korean. He gives me thank you notes recently with my purchases too And I want to make one for the woman who I buy carp bread from. She has started to recognize me and also is very friendly despite the same language barrier. The other day I only had ₩10,000 notes on me to pay for the ₩1,000 bread, and she joked with me without using any words that she wasn't going to give me any change, then she smiled warmly and gave me my change. At first I was confused, but after I realized what she was doing it made me feel welcomed :) These people have been making my time in Korea just a bit better and I want to thank them when my time here is over

General Concept - 좋은 = Nice 성격 = Personality 1.) 좋은 사람 - A nice person (Very Formal) • 좋은 사람 같아요 - He/She seems like a nice person - Very Formal 2.) 착하다 / 착해요 (Very Casual) - 착한 어린이 = Good kid - 성격이 착해요 = Good personality • 그 친구 성격이 착해요 - My friend has a nice personality. 3.) 성격 - Personality • 성격이 좋아요 - He/She has a good personality. • 그 사람 성격이 좋아요 - That person has a good personality. 3.) 괜찮은 사람 - A person that seems okay • 괜찮은 사람인 것 같아 / 괜찮은 사람인 것 같아요. - He/She seems okay. • 성격이 좋은 것 같아 / 성격이 좋은 것 같아요. - He/ She is a nice person. 4.) 잘 챙겨 줘요 - To be good at caring for others - 챙기다 = To take care of something or someone / To carry something with you • 그 사람은 다른 사람들을 잘 챙겨 줘요 / 잘 챙겨요 (He's caring towards others) Bonus - • 핸드폰 챙겼어요? - Do you have your phone with you? / Are you carrying your phone with you? 5.) 친절하다 / 친절해요 - Usually used for employees/staff members. • 호텔은 직원들이 정말 친절해요 - The employees/staff members are so kind.

Learn to read Korean before learning the words. It helps alot and should only take less than a week to get a grasp of it(may take abit longer to master the reading quickly and listening)

I have studied about it yesterday... '은' after '호텔' means the 'hotel' is the topic as '은' is the topic marking particle. Since we were talking about the staff of that particular hotel, out of all the hotels out there, we'll add '은'. But when we have to say that we want to go 'to' or 'at' that hotel we will add '에' after it. Like if I'm saying 'I want to go to that hotel', I'll say '그 호텔에 가고 싶어요'. Please correct me if I am wrong. I am learning too.

나쁘지 않은 표현입니다. 그런데 '착하다'는 표현은 보통 친근한 사이나 아랫사람에게 많이 쓰는 표현입니다. 그대로 쓰는 것이 마음에 걸린다면 한국인들은 보통 아주 친절해요. 또는 한국인들은 보통 정말 심성이 고와요. 이런 식으로 표현할 수 있습니다.

haha woops totally have been insulting ppl by accident! wait, then how do i say "so kind" to someone older than me? For instance, my boss or older coworkers help me out with the printer/copy machine at work impromptu. In english I say quietly, "oh sOoo kind! thanks!" maybe in Korean, I would say like... "고마뭐요! 도움이 되셨어요" ? --> you were really helpful. so interesting.
