it's similar with a lot of the "hard" languages I've found. there are some concepts that initially seem very odd or a higher amount of "different" things but there's usually some internal logic and with repeated immersive practice it starts to feel natural.

What I really love about you guys is that you explain things not only IN context, but around context as well. It's one thing to say, "this means this". It's another thing to say "in THIS context, it means this". But even further, you guys explain the evolution of the concepts and ideas which really, REALLY ingrain the concept/idea into my head. There is so much detail in small bits of Korean this really helps to make everything make sense.

Really loved this episode! (Well, I love a lot of your videos!) Korean is the very first language that I learned completely from scratch through my own efforts, and I have Talk to Me in Korean to thank for that! Seriously, I'm teaching myself a bunch of different languages, but Talk to Me in Korean is in my opinion one of the best language learning resources out there. Interesting, high-quality, and informative, Talk to Me in Korean videos and books have helped me get to a level where I am almost able to watch a Korean show without subtitles. I'll keep watching and buying your books so that I can get to fluency! Many, many thanks!

I want to say a big thank you to you guys from TTMIK. I am not an english or korean native speaker but I really like to learn new languages. As a language student from Brazil (and I always learn every language I want all by my own) I would probably not know how to speak korean as much as I know now if I hadn't your lessons. If I become fluent in korean one day as I am in english now (not too fluent, but okay) then it will be because of you guys. You are always saving my life haha

While picking up knowledge from this clip, 태연's 만약에 lyrics hit my brain. 만약에 내가 간다면 내가 다가간다면 넌 어떻게 생각할까 용길 낼 수 없고 만약에 네가 간다면 네가 떠나간다면 널 어떻게 보내야 할지 자꾸 겁이 나는걸 So without further exploring the rest of the story, we can tell the chances of 태연 confessing is very low. 🙃

Yay! Again simular to the concept of "wenn" (if/when >-면) and "falls" (if, by any chance >-ㄴ다면) in German. Both mean if, but the second one is used when the thing probably isn't going to happen. E.g. This conversation: "If we meet again-" "IF we meet again..." (the second person thinks it's unlikely) Would be: "Wenn wir uns wiedersehen sollten-" "FALLS wir uns wiedersehen sollten..." Could it also be translated like that in Korean? "우리 다시 만나면-" "우리 다시 만난다면..."
