Hey Frank, great video. One correction for you though, in method 1 you chose the third measurement box. That will measure from the outside of the wall of the helmet to the other outside of the wall of the helmet which means you're getting the wall thickness in the measurement too. You should choose the second measurement type for an inside measurement. Method #2 is fire!

This tutorial is really helpful. A while ago I printed my first helmet, it was Paz Vizsla's... But it was huge, it fit completely loose. Fortunately, someone wanted it to have it on display, so I didn't waste time or material, I painted it and sold it to them. Then I had another custom made with the ring test that fit me like a glove.

I really do wish I had watched this video. Before I started anything I had tried to print a helmet for the print to fail a quarter into it to see the helmet wouldn't have fitted as expected and scaled it up and it was too big for my head. I could always add padding to it but honestly it doesn't look practical at all but still could be a cool display prop.

Hey Frank can you show us how you go about resizing with the slicing method? The only way I can think of is take a helmet scale it down, save, then open in meshmixer, slice print. Then if thats still to big/or small go back resize helmet again, save, open again in meshmixer slice, save print. Seems like there must be a way in meshmixer to be able to scale it in program. I am new to this so If there is could ya point it out? Thanks man.
