Thanks for the video. I dont have the BGE but I have the Vision Mega Pro series and have had a fit trying to get the lid to seat good on the base so there are no leaks. I've only worked on it when its cool. Everytime I loosen those bolts it really doesnt seem to do any good. So your saying the lid must be hot when you loosen the bolts in order for it to seat properly? Also how tight do the bolts have to be. Im always scared Im gonna crack the lid if I over tighten. Thanks in advance and keep up the great vids?

I think it being warm helps a lot... the tightness of the bolt is rather critical and you maybe should check your manual for ft lbs and the method they suggest...thanks for watching!!!

I recommend using a torque wrench. BGE assembly instructions come with torque specs.

Just a suggestion to save you from having to buy a new lid, the bolts tightening your bands are NOWHERE near tight enough. You should be bending the bolts. SIT ON THE WRENCH. Do not worry about breaking anything as you will never break it. Physics, pressure on the circumference, round lid...tightenen them until they bend. The tabs at the end of the bands should be almost touching. If you don't then you will join the 100's of others who opened the lid one day and had it topple off the back.
