Seriously one of the best serger videos I’ve seen. Especially appreciate you mentioning your tension and stitch length/differential feed settings. 🙌 I am professionally trained and still found this video extremely valuable!

Thank You for the tutorial. Your teaching is great. I appreciate the priority of teaching over advertising. I have ordered parts because of the tutorials . Thank you. I was looking for a rolled hem foot for my old Singer. Your tutorial helped a great deal. I am making bags from cloth ie sails and billboards found after hurricane Irma. Last bag has serged edges and looks so much better than no serged edges.

Thank you for this great tutorial and thank you, most of all, for talking about the importance of good thread. I though I could "cheat" and use regular (not made for overlocking) cheaper thread. My rolled hems looked awful! So, an hour of changing the tensions and sewing them again and again -rethreading and oiling the machine I came across your video.Boom! I heard you talk about the thread, (no idea why I didn´t think about it before) I got some good quality thread, and now my rolled hems look perfect. Thank you - sometimes it´s just the little things we overlook :)

Wonderful, thank you! I used wash out interfacing and on the finest see through fabric I have ever seen it has worked! For those new to overlockers I suggest spending one day threading and unthreading your machine, over and over and over......it does work to take away all fears of thread breaking, or changing colours. The man who sold me my Bernina 1300MDC suggested it and now I LOVE my machine and as an alterations seamstress it is essential. Enjoy!

Thanks. I used my old serger for yrs just serging seam allowances on garment makes. My new serger I use for everything. Last yr I tried napkins w rolled hems. Just followed the manual and they came out great. Your vid helped so much bc if I try doing this on other fabric, I need to know that there are differences and how to set up for them. 😊

Good video w/friendly explanations that encompass most machines without pushing what she is using. Love the various suggestions [plastic wrap - who knew!!] Now I can finally do something with these lovely chiffon-type fabrics I have. Here's an FYI folks - you need to use your serger on a REGULAR basis so all the parts stay lubricated!! - a $112 lesson. Broken wrist should not be an excuse :)

Great video, some awesome tips that I didn't know. Just shortened a formal dress, was so much easier with your stabilizing method. I used the plastic wrap since it's a black dress, however I did find that the plastic wrap would cling to the underside of the foot and the fabric would bunch up while the plastic stayed put. I overcame this by using an anti-static powder thingy I have that reduces static on cardstock when I'm heat embossing. Worked like a charm!

Would you please include the Stitch Width that you are using in the video---as your outcome will give us an idea of which way to go with the width ( Your example would help us to gauge what width is needed for our project)...hope this makes sense...Would you please do that for us? :-) (Include the Stitch Width you used in the demo I mean ) Many Blessings, E.

diana Var Hi! I used a size 70 needle for chiffon fabric. And I either fold over the fabric before doing a rolled hem or use a stabilizer when doing chiffon. It's such a tricky fabric! Is the problem with your looper thread or the needle thread?
