The tool lines the cams....no way this engine runs...it may run but c.e.l immediately for timing and vanos codes...those cams have 0 marks..the tool is the lock and the timing align for the vanos and cam sensors

Can i email you with questions? Do you have Facebook? My cam gear spin but cam not moving. Bolt the go thru the gear to the cam snapped off. Need to know how to reset the cam so it's back in time

Hi. When the gear turns and cam doesn't it's means that you gear is faulty. The gear has a spring inside and it turns to fail. Your car will lose timing even when turning engine by hand. I had the same issue with my exhaust camshaft gear. Replaced it and the cam now turned with the camshaft. Replce the Vanos gear

buy the tool save yourself a headache!! you can cowboy it like him!! might end up with a $4000 bill after you bend your valves!!! tool is not even expensive!!! think of the tool as insurance!!! that will cover your work had labor and effort!!! dont do this not even worth it. I just did a N20 the 4 cylinder turbo version!! I promise you, you will need tool so you can keep everything lined up!!
