Great rig. If you heat up the tip of the nail weight it goes in really nicely.

Thanks, I'll give that a try!

Save all your dull or broken TRD finesse jigs and cut the hook bend off and use these for your weight also.

Hahaha, yeah, once you lose so many nail weights, it starts to add up! 😅 Just a money-saving tweak. It goes pretty darn quick once you do it a few times! I can do one in 5 min or so. Usually while watching something.

Hey Josh use the zman necko weight it's a straight wire with two keeper's on it will not come off and it's alot easier. Josh I didn't think it was going to work but the wire goes straight up into the bait and with the two keeper's it's not going anywhere I tried the nail weights and they would not go into the bait straight and no matter what I did they would go out one side of the bait and the other thing I didn't like is the bait would get crooked it wasn't staying straight I was having the same problem as you with the weights flying out of the bait . Now tackle warehouse has necko weights with thread's on but the problem with elaztech is that won't work UNLESS you take a lighter and heat up the threads then it will work and I ashore you that will never come off because the heat sucks the elaztech to the threads. Try one of those out the zman necko wire weight or get some threaded nicko weights and heat them up it's alot faster and very efficient and you can do both in the boat if you have to and neither one will come out of the bait unless you prefer the way your tieying that up on the hook just a couple of suggestions for a fellow angler. GOD bless you and your family

Nice and interesting video. How deep should the hook point be inside the worm ?
@joshgonefishin7 ай бұрын
Right in the center. The elaztek is so soft, it has NO problems coming through, even on small fish!

Just use an old fashion worm threader instead of a needle.

Which size is the best for this technique?
@joshgonefishin Жыл бұрын
I like the big trds. Easier to throw on a baitcaster and plenty of room in the worm for the weight and hook. Works great, even in clear water.

Dude there's EWG Ned hooks that will save you all kinds of time. Weedless and sooo easy to use. I can't believe I watched that entire video. Saying turd isn't funny at all.
@joshgonefishin Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I've tried the EWGs many times in different situations and configurations. The issue with them, if you're talking about the ones with weights molded on, is that they get hung up in rocks pretty easy, due to the diameter of them vs the TRD. MUCH more weedless and rockless when embedded in the TRD. That's been my experience as a guide, as well as countless hours using it with friends and family, anyway. I'll see if they've tweaked the designs, though. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree about turds being funny. You like farts and burps better? No bathroom humor? Puns? Dad jokes? Let me know your style and I bet I got some jokes for ya! Take care.

Kevin I bet you're a blast at parties! (just kidding) He said turd a couple times and you act like he spent five minutes off topic on turds. Chill out dude. Maybe go fishing.
