NOTE: When knitting the 2x1 rib, the racking handle must be in its lowest position. I rotated it to its highest position only to show you the first needle on the back bed, so you can skip the part of rotating it to its upper position (06:02).

Thank you for the good lesson on making socks! But my current project is to make a sweater in the round. How would you plan the ribbing 2:2 to transfer to round in plain knit? The ribbing wouldn't be long enough to go alI around the bottom, so think I can only do 1/2 of the ribbing and then somehow attach another ribbing piece afterwards?

I thought of the same thing, as you suggested. I haven't knitted a sweater yet, but I guess you can knit 1/2 of the stitches, then take the band on waste yarn. Knit the second half of the band, next transfer the stitches to the front bed, rehang the other band on the opposite needles on the back bed and remove the waste yarn. After you knit the sweater you will have to sew only both sides of the rib. You may use a ravel cord to remove the waste yarn easily. If you have decker combs, you can take the stitches using them, or you can use them to take part of the stitches and remove the rest using waste yarn. This way, you will have fewer stitches to rehang in the end. PS. Wow, I haven't heard of a sweater, that is knitted in the round. 👀

Oh my God thank you so much for this video. I can't wait to try it. Do you have a video on Casting off?
@ArtOfClay2 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for your comment! I don't have a video about casting-off yet. I know only 2 ways to make the cast-off - a simple chain stitch cast-off, and zig-zag latch cast-off (using the yellow tool). Both are the most basic ways. I will make such a video when I learn more ways to do it.

Hi, your videos are amazings! I just got the machine and I'm learning how to use it, I tried and succeded following the instructions, but now I can't make the first row! Every time I try in the same ways I already did it dosen't do the "ziga zag" of the first row but the yarn get taken only in the back needles. If you could help me I'll be very grateful

Hello Astrid, Thank you very much for your comment. You may check these things: First, check the settings on the front lock. If both levers are set to N, the machine has to knit on all needles that are in working position (no matter which side you are sliding the lock to). Also, check if the yarn feeding eyelet is inserted correctly into the jaws. If it's not in the proper position, the needles can't reach the yarn. I hope it is one of these things. If I think of something else, I will tell you. If you find the problem, I will be happy to know that everything with your machine is OK, and it is working.

Thank you dear Hi ma'am May I please ask, I have a passap dm 80 and I followed your steps but when I set the machine to NG and move the lock to the right hand side. The needles go up and it get stack. Please help
@ArtOfClay2 жыл бұрын
Hi, When the lever is set to N the machine will knit. With the lever set to N, the machine will ignore the pushers and the other dial. If you want to move the lock freely (without knitting, or to fix a jam), you must rotate the pattern selector dial to G, then move the lever to X (GX). * You must rotate the pattern selector dial ONLY when the lever is set to N. Also, sometimes some needles may pop up while knitting or moving the lock. Check if all needles are close to the rail (out of working position). * If you are moving the lock to the right, when finishing the cast-on (the last row) and if the lock gets stuck, then you have to increase the stitch size or loosen the tension on the tension mast dial.

I looked at photos on the internet for the Duomatic S. It looks the same as the Duo 80. I guess everything shown in the video will work for you.
