I got on TradeStation last week I gotta say it is way less straight forward than ThinkOrSwim. ToS was way easier for me to figure out and learn the features. I think TOS had better drawing tools as well. I’ve only been on TS for a bit though so I’m still giving it a fair shake and trying to learn it all with my limited time to trade. Are you using the current version? Or did you try to go back to version 9.5 like Jared’s?

Jared you have simplified everything so nicely. I still don't understand why OTA could not have done some basic videos like this. If you don't get the 1+1=2 you won't get the x+1=y. Until you understand basic set-up you never understand anything else. Thanks again!

This is super helpful my prior PC struggled with Tradestations platform, with some of the money I made I built a new PC and have been trying to work on getting used to and setting up Tradestation, I love that I can set up bracket orders if I have to walk away from my PC for some reason.

Thank you for doing this! But what appreciate more is you (Jared) telling me no when I asked for the layout file. It took me a couple of evenings but i just about turned TS 10 inside out and got it to look just like yours and then actually even more comfortable for me especially since by then i learned so much about the software just by digging around. I have since done the same with TOS. Nothing like rolling your own sleeves up and figuring things out. Thank you Jared! Sometimes there’s just nothing like a good boot ;)

Man I wish I had found this video sooner than I did lol. I spent hours just tinkering and trying random stuff until I finally figured it out. Took me forever to figure out how to get the volume on there. TradeStation tutorial videos are not super helpful either lol. This video teaches more of the stuff day traders need to know in 30 mins than some of their videos do in hours

Super helpful Jared. I've spent the last few weeks figuring most of this out on my own, except for the $ gainers/losers list. Couldn't really figure that out (was looking at Radar screen) Good to see how you've done it. I learned a lot. I'm especially looking forward to your video on how you use the Matrix. I still feel a little clumsy with it so would appreciate your insights. Especially when it comes to quickly setting stop losses and sell targets. I'm particularly interested in using shortcuts/hotkeys for this for faster execution. Jared, thank you for your teachings!

Thanks for the video! The only thing I'm not too fond of is on TS you have to use the up and down keys to zoom in and out of the chart I prefer the TOS approach just highlighting over what you wanna zoom in on and double clicking to zoom back out

Yeah I liked the drawing tools on ToS a lot better than the ones on TradeStation but it’s a small price to pay to not have the platform crash like ToS does

@Jerard, great video. I managed to set mine up, but you have much better tips here. The only thing is I can't get VWAP line on the minute charts only the VWAP on the radar works. Any suggestins?

Their vwap on the charts is incorrect... especially for the first 2 hrs of the day... its horrible. If you glance at the matrix, and look for the "V" THAT is the correct VWAP...

If TD AMERITRADE can make it happen. I expect it to happen in Tradestation... I just end up having both platforms and charts open at the same time...

Great info.I have 9.5 BUT lately freezes at OPEN!Called TS tech several times.Depending what teck u talk to solution suggested was CUT workspaces,upgrade to 10,some troubleshooting going into the App.How come u didn't upgrade to 10.0??????

Nice Jared. Appreciate your time and insight on the attention to details. I love having Tradestation and the Matrix total view. I can see support and resistance levels on there before they form on the charts. Question: is there any reason you have not gone to TS 10 yet? @@Live.Traders Greetings! When I click on the apps (trading apps) chart analysis is not in there. All other apps are there. When I click on the 1. file 2. New application 3. chart analysis (which is third on the row) it shows "Failed to create object. Make sure the object is entered in the system registry". I still can not figure it out.

@@princesssophiawise3560 Hi Sophia, if you make a direct wire transfer from UK bank to the broker, it does take quite long to go through. Also exchange rate is not great. I used transferwise and got a better rate. And yes you can use the normal TS website with all the features and platforms the us clients have.

If you want to trade futures and options you can select that, there is a cost for this separate. You can start with Stocks only in the beginning and then you can add later through their website. With TS if you subscribe you will get a sales manager that can assist you through the process.

As much as I love Jared ;) - people don't get US platform if you are not from US!! Every trade up to 10k shares is 5 USD per trade! Also above that line is 5 USD + 0,005 USD! So I tested them, bought 1 stock share and sell it and paid... yes 10 USD in commissions! This is nonsense for any account under 30k USD cause their commissions will eat you alive. Also customer care is shit. Pretty don't know anything and sent you over to chat. You wait like an hour on chat, being 50th in the queue!! Imagine this! Oh and also.. didn't have BRKT orders that Jared mentioned. Only BRK, watch out for this! You won't make Market Orders for stop loss and this could cost you really badly. So opened, then closing this account. Lost somewhat 70 USD on wires and commissions to get this knowledge and didn't do even one proper transaction.
