Hi Jared, I have now watched several dozen of your videos (some more than once) and I cannot put into words the amount of gratitude I feel towards you. Thank you so! much! I feel very fortunate to have found in you an honest and accomplished teacher. If you have the time, could you tell me, 1) How you know a particular stock is an ADR? and, 2) Why you do not trade them?
@alexlu7135 жыл бұрын
1. if you look it up at the stock name, it should say ADR at the end. 2. since majority of the shares are traded at foreign exchange, it's probably a reaction from an already happened result (earlier time zone than US). So it probably won't fluctuate much in US exchange

@Live.Traders Thank you for making all of these educational videos. I’ve watched many videos and have read PTS. I recall you saying that you need a pattern before entering. On the first trade with CELG, what was the pattern? Sorry if this was a bad question I’m still a beginner trader.

Hi Jared, for CELG why do you take the trade on the first bar? Isn't the (3 or 4 bar play strategy) suppose to wait for 2 or 3 bars to complete first before putting on the profit target and stop loss?

Jared I am learning about trading and love your videos very helpful. I noticed that you don’t use L2 and no Time and sales I’ve seen other that say L2 and Times and sales is a must for trading.

How do you know if a ticker is an ADR (American Depository Receipt) for not? I know it is sponsored if listed on this index. Also, Jared I have been watching your you tube videos trying to get a feel for this GAP strategy. I was struggling for years trying to figure out where you where getting this GAP from and when, because I was not seeing anything on the Pre Market Chart (Physically) and could not figure out where you were getting that or how. Until this video, I was lost. I see now that you were looking at the "LAST" column on your level 2 in the pre market scans first thing in the MORNING. Now I can die a happy man. Thanks for this one, I think I can scan for GAPS now. Michael Frye - Cleveland- OHIO

May I ask why you are using TS as platform and brokerage ? I'm asking because I coming from futures trading and I'm used to use DOM (what is the Matrix in TS) to place and manage trades. Hell I can not switch to the common stock trading platform. But maybe I should... I asking myself maybe I should work more on it and get it to be able/free to choose any broker out there. So far I'm on SIM to get my PlayBook working. I asking myself how good is TS as platform and brokerage to DAYtrade stocks. I could not find much about. I checked your videos 1 year back and there is no dedicated video about. I only found some mentions like in "How you can Trade Other People's Money" from 14.03.2016 May I ask for some thoughts about TS as platform and their brokerage. Maybe if you find some time a video ?
@Live.Traders6 жыл бұрын
IMHO, TS is the best platform available, period. For one main reason: how easy the order entry is. I've used most platforms out there and mostly they are all the same. TS is different and it's better. The only thing I don't like is their list of HTB stocks is not the best.
@peterschiffer35826 жыл бұрын
If you say HTB stocks is not the best you mean there are not so much stocks to borrow right ? I lerned TS is introd. broker for IB and I thought this is the broker with the best list of stocks to borrow... Well I see why it is so hard to short stocks
@Live.Traders6 жыл бұрын
IB and TS are not related. IBm has a great short list. TS not so much.

Hi Jared, I watch actually several videos of you and in this vidéo , i do not understand how you detect the "gaps" in premarket because on the graphics daily and 60 minutes, even in graph 5 minutes, i see nothing. We discover the gaps only when the market opens. How do you get to guess them ? what did I have to see and i did not see ?

Scan for them before the market opens using pre market gainers and losers.

Why not just double click the % header or VOL TOT header and they all line up without need to go so far down the list
@peterschiffer35826 жыл бұрын
Are you using TS 10.x ? Is it working for you ? I'm on TS 9.5 because 10.x is crashing. In TS 9.5 I#m not able to change the result order just by clicking on any header. It seems you can not tweak the scan result in any way. If you want then you need to create you own scan. Which is of course possible in TS. What I'm missing is a template which shows the params for the build in scans so I don't need to build a scan from scratch

Hello, at 5:15 you say "$BUD is an ADR. I don't trade ADRs" but you checked $BABA which is also and ADR or not ?
@Live.Traders6 жыл бұрын
Simple: BABA doesn't trade like an ADR. Take a look at the chart. There are a few I'll trade buy 98% of them I won't, so it's a fairly accurate statement

Live Traders how come you don’t trade ADR’s? Is it because they don’t get as much volatility as the true US stocks?

Because i like stocks that gpa for a reason, ADR's gap everyday because they reflect the price that it traded in for foreign exhanges.

I use also TS and I'm wondering you are using $ Loser/Gainers to find gaps ? If you scroll down you will find "Gap Up..." and "Gap Down..." scans. In my opinion the "...Losers..." and "...Gainers..." scans are not the same or not scans for gaps ?!
@Live.Traders6 жыл бұрын
Not sure how you can say that, LOL. They are ABSOLUTELY gaps. Period. If something gains even 1 penny it's a GAP.
@peterschiffer35826 жыл бұрын
From logical point of view I understand what you mean and I agree with you! But when I check both lists they are different ?! Maybe I don't own the platform yet. So far it seems both scans are sorted/scanning for different values. I mean there are rows like Net %Chg or Net Chg and so and it seems the scans are different in that way...I used TS Help but it was not helpfull. I will keep an deeper view on it later. However, may I ask do you use any other scanning software to find stocks in play ?
@Live.Traders6 жыл бұрын
13 years experience on this platform to your 1 day of experience on it? ;-) I think I have a good understanding of how it works and what works for ME. If you prefer a different type of scan, then use that scan. I just like to make money, REAL MONEY, Not simulator BS like 99.9% of the industry. So I'll stick to what has made me money. ;-)
