How to Setup 4K & HDR on your Xbox One S Console & Samsung TV

Hi, this video shows you how to manually setup 4K resolution and HDR on the Xbox One S Console and a Samsung TV (40" UHD TV Model: UE40KU6000K). I also setup Game Mode to allow the TV be more responsive.

For anyone who has a 2017 Samasung 4K UHD Tv model and CAN'T find "HMDI UHD Color" in Settings > Picture > Expert Settings, you should be able to find it INSTEAD under General > External Device Manager, and it should be under there along with the Game Mode option. Your Welcome!! I had to call Samsung Customer Service to fix that :) And I FINALLY got all my green checks in the Xbox One 4K TV Details so thank you uploader!!

The S upscales 900p and 1080p games to display in 4k on your 4k TV. The X does this as well but has the hardware to handle some games in native 4k if the developers utilize the technology to do so

On my Toshiba you have to change source hdmi to enriched from standard to make it 4k hdr but Netflix and tv look abit doggy imo but blu rays and games like gears of war 4 looks stunning even on my cheap 4k tv

Omg thank you so much. I got the 55ku6020 knowing it was a hdr tv swapped my old Xbox to the new Xbox S and when I tried it. The Xbox detected 4k right away. But I tried forza horizon 3 and no hdr worked. I was thinking I made a huge mistake. I contacted Samsung and a to shop and none of them could tell me if the to was hdr10 enabled. And no help on google I was about to give up and then I KZbin it. And found your video. My tv is identical to yours apart from its 55 inch and I followed your steps and. for me, the shitty HDMI cable that came with the one s didn't work for 4k and HDR (for HDR, you need 2.0 hdmi enabled). I had to use a different HDMI

@@Dr.RojoMcDelly No, you're the one with the BS here cos at the very least all the games will output at 4K. Not all of them will render at 4K internally, but they'll hit the TV at the native 2160p resolution which makes a huge difference rather than just upscaling 1080p.

If anyone has the Hisense ULED 4K Premium 50U6G I have a solution for you. Go to Menu, on the remote it is the square button with 2 lines above the Channel button. Scroll down and Choose: HDMI 2.0 Format. Change this to Enhanced format. It now works!!!!!

Somebody please reply to my comment. Killing myself with the stress of researching all of this. I've always played on 1080p TV's, 40inch and 24inch. Recently I really wanted to get a 4k Moniter, after seeing how nice my Xbox one s looked on my friends 4k TV. So I brought a 28 inch Acer, 4k 60hz 1ms response time Moniter and for some reason it just hurt my eyes and head really bad, and that has never happened to me before, I have always had long gaming sessions for 4+ hours and sat really close to the screen. I cannot figure out why this hurt my eyes so bad. Can anybody please just take 5 minutes to read and reply to this, I've sent the Moniter back now and I really don't know what to do next. My budget is £400 to spend on a Moniter

For some reason on my Xbox One X, ive got 4k and HDR working fine, but for some reason, HDR isn’t working on KZbin now, it was, but not HDR doesn’t show up anymore. Not even on the xbox main screen, I’m almost postive it would show HDR, but now doesn’t. Go to Netflix app, it does show HDR and UHD.

Hi My Mate VINCE bit late to the party but stumbled up on your video a couple of months back now, Had my lg4k tv for a couple of years now best move i ever made, but never knew if i was using the hdmi ports properly to get the most out of my tv with the xbox i thought having it in the "Arc" port in the back thats where you get your 4k goodness but no, just got a ps4 too and followed the same steps in your video so swapped them over between 1-3 ports and boy i can tell a difference on how it feels moving between the menus feels so much smoother now compared to what it was like in the arc port, and when you get the picture settings right then thats the icing on the cake, so thanks for making this video along with ps4 one and will come back to this for reference for future console releases such as the xbox series x

I have a similar Samsung TC but the screen goes dim and the colours look off white when I load up Forza or gears 4. Everything has green check boxes and my settings are the exact same as yours....

for me , the picture looks better on 1080p. it seems blurred in 4k. this is on the xbox one s. This is because its not true 4k and its upscaling. true 1080p is better than upscaled 4k. only way to get the real benefit of 4k is with xbox one s and compatible games
