Thanks Jeven for you new setup video, it’s perfect timing for me as next week I move into a creative studio, with natural light and I’m about to start my KZbin journey, it’s exciting and scaring at the same time. As always you are so good at sharing quality information, it’s really appreciated. Good luck with your new chapter in your life too :)

This is a wonderful video, I just finished a vlog talking about gear doesn't make you, it enhances the skills that you learn and develop and I feel like this space discussion is very similar but also very helpful in how to quickly set it up

I like to see what set up you would suggest for people not wanting to spend 10 grand on a studio. More somebody using GoPros and some Amazon bought lighting and microphones.
@JevenDovey

Use a window like I did. Film with the GoPro and get a DJI mic or something similar. Cheap easy way to do it.

I wouldn’t say what he showed was anywhere close to 10 grand. All of his equipment had cheaper alternatives.

@@Rootkitdev those cameras alone are more than half of that cost.

@@TroutWesttake the cameras out of the equation. Those are easily replaced. I think he’s trying to explain the importance of having a place to record and make it seamless. Not necessarily. “You need this gear “

Get a comfortable place to work, and the rest follows. I’ve changed my setup multiple times, and will likely change it again in the future.

Just my opinion as a video producer of over twenty years and someone that has worked on feature films, I feel like your audio is over processed. There is a perception of audio relation and it comes with the type of viewing accompanying the listening. While I comprehend why you want to kill your ambient room tone and echo from the solid walls in your space, you've created a closeted sound, like you are trapped in a small space speaking into a pillow. It comes across somewhat jarring and disjointed in combination to how your visual space is recognized to actually sound. Clean audio doesn't have to be "Perfect" and without any ambient or situational/atmospheric elements to be perceived.

Nice to see you back in business. Sorry you had to leave the last place after you just finished it, but by making it educational at least the effort was not lost. I would suggest an f1.8 for most beginners as most name brand f1.4 or faster are quite expensive.
@JevenDovey
@JevenDovey 2 ай бұрын
Yes but good lenses. 1.8 is a solid cheaper option.

I like the setup but wondering if you ever do the studio shots at night and what you would do with the windows being dark and light reflection? Assuming some type of shades but do not see anything in this video.

Yes you have to worry about reflections. Just need to play with distance and angle to hide them

Question, anyone feel free to chime in would love opinions. My cabin has a lots of gorgeous angles and textures but the internal lighting is very very difficult everything is a hard orange it's exceptionally hard to balance skin tones vs background tones. Even just shooting photos in here is a white balance editing nightmare, any thoughts?
