Here's how to setup Amazon Alexa voice control on your LG Smart TV.

Hello, great video, my TV is an SK8100PLA, I’m based in Ireland. I managed to get this to work by changing my locations to the UK, but it won’t turn on the TV. I don’t have the connections option like you do, any ideas if my tv is simply not supported for this?

Sorry for the delay. I just looked this up and according to the LG website Alexa is not supported in Ireland. Check out the link and scroll down to the AI TV section and it says "Alexa not supported in Republic of Ireland" www.lg.com/uk/tvs/lg-55SK8100PLA

You can use the built in alexa to control things like lights, cameras, etc, but if the model comes with the "Magic Remote", you can press the mic button to control the tv. For "hands free" control, you need an Alexa device. The newest echo dot and echo will do that, but in the previous generation (third gen) you needed an Echo Plus

Turn on the TV using your phone WiFi option. It says using your phone but should work for the Alexa too

Process maybe a little docent based on the version of WebOS you have. Here’s the directions. 1. For webOS 4.0, launch the "Set Up TV for Amazon Alexa" app from the Home screen on your LG TV. For webOS 4.5, launch the "Link to Devices for Voice Control" menu from Settings > Connection on your LG TV. For webOS 5.0, launch the "Home Dashboard" from the Home screen and go to Settings > Link to Smart Speaker

Hello there, I have a C9 55inch PLA, basically every time I go into "Link Devices for Voice Control" then "Amazon Alexa" well saying every time I do, the result goes sometimes to either a blank screen with nothing, or I get an http message - which is HTTP Status 4040 - Not Found - Type Status Report - Description - The origin server did not find a current representation for the target resource or is not willing to disclose that one exists. - The version is Apache Tomcat/8.5.16. I have managed to get to the correct screen 1 or 2 times in the last two weeks or so, but is very rare, it just freezes anyway with nothing else, sometimes a network unstable message may appear. I have contacted LG but their technical team is working on it. Just wondered if anyone had this message and have any idea how to work around it? I fear it could be something to do with my location or the location server which the tv connects to in order to push the Alexa commands. This is sooo ridiculous, I have been scratching my head out trying to figure it out. I have tried everything including physical hardware, software, menu changes. Any ideas anyone?

That happened to me too. You need to download the LG app first and select the tv from a list. Then you can enable the Lg skill from the Amazon Alexa app.

It’s a bug, I had amazon Alex on with link to devices for voice control and put in the right password and says password is incorrect, I had it my devices but with the lg webos update, it broke the link for Amazon Alexa
