Hey Rob. I'm a complete beginner with SD-WAN. I found this series of yours on your channel. It's been four years since you completed it. I have a question. Have there been any changes in Viptela so far? Is it a good idea to start learning SD-WAN with Viptela? If so, then there are some new versions of it. I was able to find 19.2.3. Would you recommend using this version in EVE?

EVE needed more space, so if you add a hard drive, when EVE spins up, it'll auto add the new drive and expand the storage.

it's likely your folder containing the qcow file doesn't follow the naming convention required by eve therefore eve can't pick it up.

Hi Rob, how were you able to get the vsmart, vEdge node templates into eve-ng. I have uploaded the images into my vm, but my eve-ng does not have the various viptela temples in the Add Node section. I'll really appreciate any insight

download the latest version of EVE-NG, the templates are updated and it works there. I currently use the Nov 2019 release, works great.

cisco wont let me download the images even when logged in , do i need to be a representative of a company to be able to do some eve-ng labs or am i missing something ?

Hi Rob, I just sign up and become your channel's member. I got access to the SDWAN unl file. However, there is not a list of what images version you are using for the LAB. I am not having any choice with my ASAv and general Rourer, got CSRv100v 16.12-sdwan for MPLS router and INET router, I got v-suits 19.2.3. This version is quite diffrent than you, yes? Please name a list of the version you are using for the LAB. General Router, SW, MPLS/INET Router/CA-Router/V-suits. If version mismatch this could cause big confuse, you can upload to the list to the member's only content. Thanks

Have you created the startup configs for these other devices in the topology (ie: switches, routers, CA)? Do you also have a plan to create a lab workbook? Looks like you have not really had much updated content in a good while so I am assuming you are busy.

What is according to you the benefit of embedding the vmanage, vsmart and vbond images in eve? I’m hesitating between an eve setup or a vmware deployment. Resource wise, the eve option seems less efficient.

you will have access to gui. i did it by using a windows VM inside eve-ng to navigate to it.

No, you would need a lot more CPU, like 12-20 Ghz from what I remember. 32 or GB RAM as well.

if click start and it turns on but immediately powers off, sounds like nested virtualization isn't supported on your system. Check the bios

depends on how many devices you'll run. RAM usually isn't an issue, usually its CPU, the more the better.
