Watching this one back, it looks like some of the screen rendering was off. Sorry for that. I think the screen captures might look better if you drop the resolution from 4k down to 1080p or so. I think the video render cut and rescaled some things in a way it shouldn't have. Argh!

Since you’ve had time with your Parasound Amps what exactly is different from your last Amps? I know you stepped up in quality but are you really hearing a difference. I have the 1st Gen. Emotiva and would Love to own a Parasound but at 3 Grand I want to hear a difference not think I do because I paid more!! What are your thoughts? Thanks! 👴🏽

This is super hard to characterize because I never did an A/B comparison. So I'm working off acoustic memory, but I also changed amps, preamp, and speakers all at the same time. I find the audio in my theater less fatiguing than before. People use the term "warmer" and I agree with that. It has a more pleasant listening tone I would say. Is that worth $3k? Maybe no, especially depending on your speakers. To my Focal, I think the Parasound are a better match overall. I think they are certainly better built and I think I prefer the Class A-A/B architecture. What's your speaker brand? With an earlier gen Emotiva, you might be fine to sit tight. I upgraded from Emotiva Gen3 which was a very different design.

@@Techthusiasm I have SVS Ultra all around except,of course,my front and back heights. Sounds pretty good without ARC enacted. I’m hoping when I do run ARC Genesis it knocks the sound quality out the Park! I would venture to say it’s roughly a 10% increase in quality over my Yamaha as it is now. I was expecting more but I’ll wait and see what Genesis brings to the table! I have a 3 channel Emotiva for the front stage,2 channel Emotiva for surround and a Marantz 5 channel for my Back. I know the Marantz is the odd Man Out but at first I was planning on an all Marantz system. The Marantz was the 1st Amp I purchased. I had a change of heart and decided to go into a completely different direction and Emotiva and Anthem was born! I heard from other people that the 1st Gen Emotiva was probably the best sounding even over the 2nd & 3rd gen. Is that true? I don’t know but I do know my pockets feel Good!!😆 I know another guy who had Emotiva 3rd gen and went to Parasound and said he really didn’t notice much of a difference. I prefer a brighter sound and that’s what I heard the Emotiva sound signature will bring. I’ll really see when I run ARC! So far I’m pleased!!👴🏽

@@JLRJ I would say sit tight on the Emotiva amps you have. Go ahead with getting the Anthem all set and calibrated. I wouldn't be under any pressure to change amps, if I were you.

Just got the same system except with a 6tb terra. I put my physical library on a zappiti Question. What hdmi cable r u using. Apparently mine is dropping frames so I had to order a new one and tried to get one that they recommended but they weren’t super specific so was wondering the length ur running and brand/model in case the one I have coming doesn’t work out. I use RUIPRO fiber optic hdmi 2.1 cables off Amazon for my long runs to my displays from my rack. And I use Infinite cables hdmi 2.1 for all the 6’ interconnects. Linus tech tips tested all kinds of hdmi 2.1 options and infinite was the most reliable. And they are really inexpensive. Canadian company.

Just finished watching and again I would Love to own one but it’s too expensive for Me. I do have a few questions though. If you do a factory reset will you need to re-download all your Movies? Is the quality of the downloads truly as good or better than 4K? Is it possible to share your Movies through Internet with another person like Plex can? What is the average price for the Movies and do they run Specials? If you can do a video on Control 4? I have a Harmony Remote and I’m looking for options since they are now Defunct. Thanks!👴🏽

* If you reset the storage unit, yes that would do a content delete. * For sure quality meets disc and K can exceed it given they are not constrained by the fixed size of a disc. Bit rate doesn't always result in immediately massive tangible quality differences, but it certainly influences it. * You can't explicitly share, but multiple K system in different locations can be operated under a single account which would have access to all the content owned by that account. * Movies normal price tend be $25 by my experience. There's a lot of $20 or less content, and there is unfortunately some content up in the $30 - $36 range which sucks. Those studios need a reality check. Special are run very often, yes. Weekly sales with movies down to $10 - $15 usually plus bigger sales at holiday time and such. They have also started doing some bundle purchase options, which I hope we see more of. I will start talking Control4 more soon, yes. Automation is just a topic I haven't dug into yet, but C4 does a lot of stuff in my house that I can discuss.

Ha! There's lots to do when any of us hit it big. One thing with K to keep in mind is that you don't need to maintain storage to hold your entire library resident locally. I have room for about 200 movies locally, but have close to 1,300 in my library. I can download any movies in about 10 minutes. That's fast enough to decide to watch something, trigger a download, and have it ready before I'm ready. But I have 1 Gbps internet speed, which is required for such fast downloads.

How do you access the K-Scape WUI once you connect it to your network ? Do you put the IP address the player is using in a web browser?

Jaremy, enjoy all of your videos. I have a Kaleidescape system running into an AVM90. I have had random video flicker between the two devices. It is not a cable issue and has nothing to do with display as I have changed both of these and still have the random flicker. Not sure if it is an hdmi handshake issue…sometimes but not always it helps to power cycle either the strato C player or the AVM90. I know you have Kaleidescape and AVM70 so wondered if you have seen anything similar and know of a settings fix for this. Thanks.

I have not experienced this with my K, but the 90 has the new HDMI board, which my 70 does (not yet) have. I understand this is a known issue. It's been discussed on the AVS owner's forum and Kscape owner's forum too, I think. I believe the latest Anthem beta firmware referenced fixing issues with K integration, so a fix is hopefully coming.

@@Techthusiasm thanks for the quick reply! Are you running anthem beta firmware? I assume it is fairly solid and without large bugs? I thought about trying the beta firmware to see if it fixed my flicker issue with K but didn’t want to introduce other possible issues….fairly disappointed as these are not inexpensive pieces of equipment. Per one of your previous vids, I believe I also need to use Wi-Fi connection to anthem (in lieu of Ethernet) to enable the firmware upgrades.

Right now I'm on the normal release, but I did run the betas for most of 2022 without trouble. I tend to run betas on most of my devices. I would give a try. The risk of beta is probably worth less than the actual problem you're having which negatively impacts using your system right now. You might not need to change to Wi-Fi. I had that problem, but I think it's more an exception than the case for everyone.

@@Techthusiasm just for your info, I was able to change to beta firmware on Ethernet and have not (yet) noticed the video flicker using K and avm90. I’ll keep you up to date with this as it is possible you will have same issue when you get the new hdmi 2.1 board for your avm70. Hopefully the switch to beta continues to fend away the video flicker for me. Thanks again.

With the cover shuffle.. they should surround the title selected with other titles identical (ie Spiderman and surrounded by Spiderman only then similar titles around that)

That's the general point and intended behavior of it, but it doesn't always make 100% the same choices you might expect.

Is that lag normal when in shuffle mode?

There's a forced few seconds of wait time when you change titles before the system activates the shuffle, if thats what you mean, if you have the UI set to shuffle. I keep my UI in the alphabetical mode though, so it shuffles only when I command it to.

Would be great if say you could control a specific device so if for example your son or daughter has a player in their room, you can limit THAT device to say nc-13 but the rest of the network has unlimited access.. however you can add select titles if parents approve to that device..

I believe that should be achievable in some manner. The player does have parental controls limits. I've not explored them, but perhaps I could and make a dedicated video about it.
