The included bolts look like masonary anchors, for brick buildings. Good call on swapping them out for your timber home.

You can use silicon to seal of the gap between the awning and door to prevent water leakage.

Also easier if you lay it on it's side so you can push down when assembling. Just a thought. Also, the first anchors you were showing and saying they are a mess to use and makes big holes in the house............well, that is because they are made for masonry walls. Not wood

Glad someone is having luck with them. I bought a few of these style awnings off eBay, I found them an absolute nightmare to work with. The panels kept slipping out of the joiner, I was going to glue them in but I literally just decided to chuck it in the recycling.

They hold up very good in high wind, but added some WD 40 on the plastic in the winter so snow will not stick. Make sure to use clear outdoor caulk.

Try using a stud finder. To find solid beams behind. Should be all plywood at least. So don’t use too long of screws

Yeah you need screws for cement/ brick etc. or the ones that come with it. But then you’re drilling big holes for them. So need specialty bit for that.

Buy better quality concrete sleeve anchors to attach to brick use a 3/8 drill bit. Apply clear caulk also around the edge of the awning to prevent water falling inside the awning. Please vacuum out the drill holes after drilling or the anchors will not sit flush.

Mine came without instructions and I pulled the plastic off now I don't know which side is the UV side. Can you tell which side is the UV side? Mine was a bitch to assemble the two plastic sheets together, the slots in the center section were narrow and I had to use a butter knife to feed them into the slots. Maybe because it's cool in here? Again: how can you tell the UV side when the plastic has been pealed off?

You can use a stud finder. But there is plywood back there which should be enough, as they are lightweight. Plus you need it over the door , so not much choice where it will screw in. It’s all sold still.
