Thanks for this Jeff! Just ordered one of these as Im sending back my ix14. Gimbles are extremely stiff and no way to loosen them enough for my taste, especially for helis. Currently the VCt is the same price as the ix14, although you have to buy a neo vbar with it for $1150. Question about this setup, being you had to lower the pitch so much on initial setup, wouldnt it have been better to look at moving the balls in 1 hole on the servos to try and keep the numbers closer too 100 for better servo/fbl resolution?

@rcflyeryou2 ай бұрын
I had commented earlier after first watching your video. It is an excellent video, and easy to understand. I do have one question regarding the control throw values. As far as I know, Mikado has always maintained that the values ideally should be between 80 and 100. It would seem to me that moving your servo arm balls in one hole, you could increase the collective/cyclic and tail throw values to higher values to get your desired pitch values which would allow for greater resolution on your servos. Does your heli fly good with the settings in your video? I looked at the manual, and you have the balls placed where they show in the manual, but that makes your output numbers lower than what I think Mikado recommends.

Coming from a Spektrum radio so forgive the stupid questions! On basic flight setup on spektrum I would just use the throttle curve and pitch curve settings to setup my helicopter to be beginner friendly. How is this done on the Vbar Touch?
@westhobbiesrc80516 ай бұрын
Same way! You can go into special curve function and adjust your curves and multiple different points to how you like. Personally, I run a linear pitch curve and set RPM throttle curves on every helicopter. I think that is something that everybody should do as it is a better long run curve, but I do understand wanting to have less and or more pitch either direction. But for a beginner set up, I would say just run less pitch but still keep that equal linear curve.
@james225076 ай бұрын
Thanks Jeff….. setup comparison for beginner showing both spektrum and vbar side by side would be awesome 😎

I have a YGE ESC/BEC/TELEMETRY unit, should I update it using the usb YGE unit I purchased first before setup? Also I have the Torq box for setting the servos, so I should adjust those first? Updates for the Evo radio and receiver are needed first also or is it not necessary because they are new? Sorry for the newbie questions. I've watched alot of your videos which have all been awesome. I know that you have shown some of these things already, I'm guessing that updates and servo settings should be done before vbar setup... Thanks for any help you can give!
@westhobbiesrc8051 Жыл бұрын
Yes, I would update/set your BEC voltage with your YGE USB. I’m not sure about YGE (only one I have is in my Comet) but I know with Hobbywing there is a Vbar update software that allows programming and adjustments for the ESC though the Vcontroller. Yes! I would highly recommend center your servos with the Tbox that way you don’t have to do any servo centering through the Vbar. I would if done it that way if I was using Torq (or any servo that uses a program box.) you don’t have to update the radio first but I would just so it’s done and you don’t have to worry about it later. Thank you! I’m glad the channel is helpful and you can learn! Ask all the questions you need as that’s part of learning!

You are not using SUB TRIM correctly. The first level of the menu allows you to modify the ‘combined’ fonctions - meaning elevator, aileron - moves the necessary servos as a group. To zero out the individual servo (thru Sub-trim) you need to click on the blue tabs - this will give you access to individual servo movements.
