Experienced rider here and let me tell you. Unless you’re a pow addict and only ride pow, or a real beginner. Just go with true camber, it will always support you in every way possible and it’s good for quite everything

Agree. Although Rock-out Camber by Salomon is a good middle of the road profile. Enough stability and pop from camber but a little more forgiving edges.

I'm a big fan of the rocker-camber-rocker profile for most riders. The rocker helps prevent a monster edge catch that ends their day or even season, but still has the camber to get a decent carve going.

After all, the whole setup with a screwdriver is a disadvantage. There's nothing wrong with adjusting the straps like this, we do it once for a pair of shoes, but I would still like to adjust the hightback without a screwdriver. The video is useful for beginners, thank you

I’ve tried and tried again with the recommended holes on the board for binding placement, but this stance feels waaaay too wide for me. Can’t seem to get it right. Where I have them now I feel like I have way more nose than tail

No don’t touch the highback. Most people shouldn’t touch them, really only people riding pipe or have another good reason to adjust them should. If you’ve been riding with them without added forward lean and it feels fine, don’t fix what’s not broken.

I'm 6 feet 180lb wearing Vans Hi-country Boots in size 10, do you think 158W would be a good size for me too? Found a good deal on Annex, but there is only 158W or 162. I prefer to ride off piste most of the time. I wish you've made a review on this board, my first 2 boards were Arbor, I'm really happy to see that you got one.

They’re awesome! For riding they feel exactly like normal bindings because of the straps, but you get the convenience of the step in/out function when you want. Plus the release is at the top of the highback which is super easy. Best of both worlds!

I have been smashing my head on the internet to find some good tips about setting up the width, I just got myself a dancehaul 152 and the reference holes seem to be a bit too far for me, I am doing a 0 / +21 and my back foot is one hole towards the center and my front foot is 2 holes towards the center to reach my width + ~4cm. I was just wondering if i get any downsides from having my front foot so far from the reference to the center?

How tall are you? It's mostly preference, but with a directional unisex board like yours, the reference points are a rough estimate, set to a comfortable medium between men and women. They are usually based on the idea that sitting back on the board is better for control and powder management. His board is set up very similar to how the dancehaul probably prefers to be ridden. But all preference. For binding width, I was always taught to go with the distance between your ankle bone and knee and set that to the distance from binding inner edge to edge. It's pretty true to that and varies a bit by my setup and conditions that day. Im 6'1" and have about 18.5" between binding.

Ideally you should try to split the difference between the front and back so front and back foot are the same from the center. If you look at the center of the reference diagrams of the board even though the shape is directional, the center of the sidecut is center of the reference stance. By shifting your front foot back you are shifting that center more rear and putting it behind the center of the sidecut. On some boards and riding style that is desirable on other not so much, I think you need to ride it and feel it out, you could always split the difference and use the slots on your bindings to make up the fine adjustments.

@@FlatbottomBomber 172 and 75kg, So my normal board size would be ~155 from my calculations but Salomon recommends to get 3-5cm smaller one so i went for the 152 because 147 seemed too small. Currently with my back one hole to the center and my front 2 holes to the center it seems to be quite comfortable. (tho i am getting a lot of ankle pain probably form the new boots). My question was just to determine if i'm ok the be so far away from the reference holes on this board as I can feel my right foot stepping on that caber bending the board in. Im beginner - intermediate i guess so not quite sure if that's ok. I'm only interested in carving, speed and powder with a jump here and there but deff no park for me.

@@claudiunichifor The put the inserts in there for a reason. If you tried it and like it then go for it. That is a narrow stance for someone your height but that can be good for carving

I mean it's really down to what you prefer. I learnt 15/0, tried 21/0, then went back to 15/-3, -6, -9 all the way to 15/-12. I tried 12/-12 and 9/-9 too. I can tell you I never rode switch as easily as 9/-9 while it was wayyyy harder than anticipated at 15/-9. I'm still way more comfy for one way / carves and stuff at 15/0 but I like Ducky more to play around. Im still not sure what I like for "everyday" runs !

@@tylergrant9536 Flying V more stable at lower speeds, and camber more stable at high speeds. If you are really learning, then Flying V might be more forgiving. But with more skills, you will most probably transition to camber over time. On the other hand, I started on camber right away. It took me longer to learn the basics, but I did not have to transition after few years. I would recommend asking snowboarding instructors, as they should be able to advise. Or contact the snowboard manufacturer support. I had questions about optimal board length and type, and the Burton support was really helpful.
