I really like this rod so I happen to be on a phenix sponsored boat ranger 85 this weekend with frank Someone was using this Tranx 400 great to pair up with and I get that 200 grams works great around 300 feet of water My questions is can this little puppy cast out a little ? Most videos and the person I seen was just dropping down basically and yo-yo ing with it so I didn’t see if we would be able to cast a few yard. I love the weight and I love the feel and handle tuck positioning it’s a nice little toy.

I just got this rod but in medium heavy paired with a lexa 400wn. I mainly plan on using if for rock fish and ling cod, do you think it can be used for yellow tail and yellowfin tuna?
@phenixrods5 жыл бұрын
100% that setup would work great for Yellowtail, we have caught tuna up to 80#'s on the 710ML with no issues.

Can I river salmon fish with one of these?
@phenixrods5 жыл бұрын
It can be done but Our Cicada series is specific for River Salmon, something to take a look at. Our Longfall Jigging blank has been very popular with freshwater bass fisherman looking for the ultimate heavy cover / punching rod. Hope this helps!

Will a Daiwa Lexa 400 5.1:1 work on this rod?
@phenixrods5 жыл бұрын
Yes, that would be a perfect match!

Would you fish that setup in 200-270 ft of water, or would you go lighter? What’s the gear ratio on that tranx 400? 5:8 or 7:6
@phenixrods5 жыл бұрын
we were fishing a 200g jig in about 300 feet of water with no issues, Tranx 400 with 5.8:1 gear ratio.

Is there’s a difference in action between the Longfall and slow pitch rods? Which is better for rockfish?
@phenixrods5 жыл бұрын
@@paulluis4 the long fall is better for the longer leaf jigs, but our 6'8 rods are designed to do both.

l'm looking at the Titan TJX-L710H. It'll be my second SPJ outfit reserved for heavier jigs in the 350g + category. The website calls this a "slow jigging / long fall" rod. Is this still considered a slow pitch rod? Any reel recommendations for this?
@phenixrods4 жыл бұрын
TJX-L710H is designed mainly for long fall applications. Ceaser (the man in the video) recommends reels as Ocean Jigger 2000. Actually, any tall and narrow reel will work.

Hey Cesar I have an Accurate 500N and was looking to get into long fall fishing. I was looking at either the MH or H model Titan series. Would definitely like it for both rockfish from 150-350 feet but could also double as a yellowtail stick at Clemente. Any suggestions? Thanks man
@phenixrods4 жыл бұрын
Hi Trūman, I would recommend the 710mh, it will fish 200-350 gram jigs and can handle yellowtail with ease

Hello sir I am a newbie,any suggestion what rod and reel do I have to buy for micro jigging
@phenixrods4 жыл бұрын
Hi Glen, there are lots of variables to consider when vertical jigging. Depth and current are two primary factors, based on these two things you should adjust your gear and setup. Heavier jigs should be used when fishing deeper zones or when the current is strong. You want to fish enough weight to keep the jig and line relatively vertical, if you have a lot of scope in the line the jig and rod are not able to maximize the action in the lure. Micro jigging, take a look at our Titan Slow Pitch TJX-63UL, TJX-68L, Long Fall TJX-710L, and Spinning TJX-S63UL. I hope this help! Is it safe to go over your rods limit? I have 200grams max jig rod lol can I use 250g on this?
@phenixrods3 жыл бұрын
It will work for sure. But it works best in the recommend lure range。
