Another great video. Thank you. Are you by any chance planning to review Kinnarps Capella? I ended up ordering serie p desk and Capella chair because I felt like it supported my whole back whereas Plus was curved too much causing top of my back not to touch it at all. Capella also seemed wider.

Hey! No plan yet to review it but why not. It's a chair that I find too big for me and where I'm most disturbed in under my thighs: the front edge of the seat pan creates a pressure line unless I sit too low. But several clients of mine love it. The backrest is flatter than on the Plus indeed, although you should still not rest the shoulder blades when working.

Hi, I recently found your channel and I'm trying to organize my workplace according to your tips. Do you think expander for hands can help in treating carpal tunnel syndrome already present

For a ultrawide monitor (34 inch) where it’s wider than tall would this change the equation in how high or low the monitor is to your eyes? Thank you for the awesome videos
@OlivierGirard17 күн бұрын
Hey! The height adjustment doesn't change for ultrawide monitor: always 10° below eyes level. Ultrawide vs standard is more a matter of the horizontal dimension, i.e. the width of the visual field. But with sizes such as 34'', the problem is often the vertical dimension: unless you're very tall, it's difficult to have it below eyes level. That's why I recommend companies to not buy their standard monitors above 29''.

I’ve now watched your videos to fix my ergonomics but now I feel pain in lower and upper back: is it possible that this is due to me now sitting properly so my muscles are aching (lower back supporting posture and upper back support proper head and shoulder posture)?
@OlivierGirard15 күн бұрын
Yes. There are always 2 possibilities: - you're making new mistakes 😅 - you're fixing the old mistakes but your body isn't too happy about it yet. That's why my advice is: follow my recommendations 5 min per hours this week, 2x 5 min next week, etc. To go even further, you can help behavioural change by targeted exercises, which is the purpose of the Posture Academy programs (oliviergirard.ch/en/posture-academy-online-program/).

Any Idea to order a Kinnarps chair from Italy? Actually I use an Amia chair (i suffer from severe scoliosis)
@OlivierGirard14 күн бұрын
That's the big weak spot of Kinnarps: their distribution network is limited, and apparently not present in Italy. Sometimes, there are some on the 2nd hand market...

What desk is that?
@OlivierGirard17 күн бұрын
It's the Kinnarps Serie P. But honestly desks are less complex to choose from than chairs: just beware min and max height and you'll be already quite good. I have technical specs publicly available here: oliviergirard.ch/en/ressources-gratuites-ergonomie-posture/a-la-maison,at-home/technical-specifications-for-office-furniture/

Nice Video The only problem i see is these are not affordable tables or chairs. Can you make a video where people can work with a low budget Example, A simple table with no drawers and budget chair recomendations (Key things to look when buying a chair) etc. From where I come from, a chair like that cost a fortune Thanks

You make a fair point indeed. I have an other video on working from home that explains how to arrange a cheaper workplace: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJDZfqqFmZ5qkLM. Next to this, I conducted a free public workplace assessment for Leo, a student in India, with his existing furniture: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6jbepmJntKqhqc. Reg. the choice of a chair, here is a video that you will find relevant on the one and only criteria that is important: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pmbNcpWoiZxkppI Does this help?

Wouldn't it be better for the center of the screen to be in the middle of your eyesight? If not, why so?
@OlivierGirard18 күн бұрын
Many people believe so, but it's a mistake: - when you sit well (kzbin.info/www/bejne/ioDHkJhrnr9sqq8), the torso is slightly forward, hence the line of sight is slightly descending - everything you do above your line of sight is done 50% by the rotation of the eye in the skull, 50% by neck extension (and that's a violation of Posture Rule #2). In this case, 50% of your screen would therefore contract your neck.

@@OlivierGirardHi, if the monitor is higher can it cause pain in the body other than the neck?
@OlivierGirard17 күн бұрын
@@armanis1234 Indeed. For several reasons: - neck strain results in lower back strain (that's the spinal equation: lumbar + cervical act together against thoracic) - a high screen with a negative tilt will make you slouch, hence strain the lower back and create rounded shoulders posture - when you slide on your chair, you often resist in the legs, which can strain the buttocks (kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJycaqmOj9Zoo9E) and legs (kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYXadXije75pa5Y). Makes sense?
