I like this project unlike some of the others, because it gives you measurements on cutting out the project.

Thank you for making such a good tutorial! This will be my first sewing project with my new sewing machine. I’m a beginner so hopefully this will go well. Please continue to make fabulous tutorials!!

Just found this material yesterday and here you are with a pillow using the very same fabric. Love it. Mine will make a front door curtain. :-)

Really appreciate this tutorial - just made my cushion cover and it looks great! The only thing I would change is not using 3/4 of the width of both flaps at the back - found it really tricky to get my cushion form in… next time I will go with a slightly smaller overlap 👍

I have completely enjoyed watching your video done step by step. The only thing I felt a bit confused about was the size of the front and back pieces. They got to be at least an inch bigger than the size of the pillow. This helps to have a comfy seam allowance. But all in all a beautiful video..well done and keep posting more. 👌
@onlinefabricstore3 жыл бұрын
Hi Poonam! When you are making pillows, you actually want the pillow case to be slightly smaller than the form. So if your pillow is a 10" square, I would actually recommend making your cover 8-9" so it fits the form right. Otherwise your case is not going to have that nice puffy feel and its going to look just like a lumpy piece of fabric!

Why did you not cut fabric on the diagonal for the piping/cording?
@onlinefabricstore4 жыл бұрын
I am not sure why we decided to do this that day, if you do cut on the diagonal, the piping will have more stretch to if so if you are making anything with sharper corners than this, I would recommend cutting on the bias. Good catch!
@chitraannisapratiwi65727 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the tutorial, I am so new to sewing, have been watching this several time and plan to make one. What kind of fabric you are using ? Is it canvas ? Will wait for your answer, thanks !
@onlinefabricstore7 жыл бұрын
Hi Chitra, this is a medium weight decor fabric. Pillows can be made out of all sorts of fabric, but drapery fabric (www.onlinefabricstore.net/application-drapery.aspx?type=fabric) is the most commonly used. Good luck!

Do I have to add the seam allowance to your measurements? 16x16 for the front piece should be bigger with seam allowance?
@onlinefabricstore4 жыл бұрын
Here are the written instructions- www.onlinefabricstore.net/makersmill/how-to-sew-an-envelope-pillow-with-piping/ hopefully they help give you a little more clarity for your project

Do you change back to the regular presser foot before sewing the front and back together?
@onlinefabricstore5 жыл бұрын
No, the zipper or piping foot should be used whenever sewing near the piping so you can sew right up against it. The only time the regular foot was used was when sewing the edges of the overlapping back pieces.

The only thing I hate about this is imperial measurements. The whole world uses metric
@bluelaugh078 жыл бұрын
Why a zipper foot?
@onlinefabricstore8 жыл бұрын
+bluelaugh07 The zipper foot allows you to sew close to the piping, which wouldn't work with a regular foot. There are also feet made specifically for piping, but the zipper foot that most machines come with will get the job done.
