Thanks man, I have a Spyker (Spyderco / Kershaw coop) and the recurve is insane and drove me crazy whenever I wanted to sharpen it.

Very informative. Does this work on different metals of the blades?

Thanks! Most knife steels yes. You may need a diamond rod for some of the high hrc steels.

That’s a good sharpening technique for recurve blades.

is it a good idea to sharpen recurved blades with the rounded side of a rasps?
@CommonCentsOutdoorsman7 ай бұрын
Yes if you need to remove material quickly to fix the grind or edge. Follow up with finer rods and strop.

Just so happens I was having a bitch of a job sharpening my blurr and by chance your using the same knife in your video. I been trying on 4in rods but I just don't have the technique. Flat diamond stones have already damaged the profile. Thanks

Cool. Take your time. After some practice it kinda becomes therapeutic, enjoyable and satisfying. If the edge is really beat up start with a diamond rod then the finer ceramic. Finish up on a strop. A leather belt and the barber technique work great on the Blur! Good luck.
