A great tip for all beginners: When you buy a new DSLR, buy BODY ONLY and rather invest in a prime lens (50mm 1.8G is very reasonable and versatile) but only opt for 24/35mm for crop sensors as the focal length will be 1.6x what you see. You will learn more about photography with a prime lens in one year than with a kit lens in two. Also since there is no optical zoom in prime lenses, so just use your legs. 😀

Absolutely incredible video! I have already rewatched it a couple times. I am getting KZbin Premium this is one of the videos I would rewatch when I want a quick refresher. Sometimes when I'm out shooting I forget things and wow this explained some things that I think about like when to adjust which setting on the exposure triangle. As for mode I always shoot Manual but it would be cool to see videos like this to explain Aperture and Shutter priority as well

Was an enthusiastic film amateur before digital took over. Life interrupted. My only digitals have been point-and-shoot or phone. Any suggestions where can learn more about ISO as it relates to digital? Also, I remember looking at early 10 megapixel cameras, But the color reproduction of the various Sensors seem to vary dramatically. Is that still true, all I see (on Utube) is discussion of features.

A tip for everyone, new or veteran photographers. I have been taking photos for 8 years now. I began with a Sony Xperia L and moved on to a Canon 80D 4 years ago. Ok so, no matter how long you have known this. It's always good to go back to basics. Most of the time we miss the smallest details because we forget our foundation. So it's good to always to go BACK TO BASIC

I’m constantly chasing my subject(s) with the focal point and missing moments. Is that normal to do or are there any tips on what to change on my camera
@samiajbeli15564 жыл бұрын
First, really nice explanation. It's just missing the aperture priority mode which is semi manual. At least for sony you have the ability to set a min shutter speed when reached it will start increase ISO. That's basically what you would do in manual mode. Manual mode is not very practical let's say in golden hours where the light condition is changing very fast. And if you want to intentionally shoot over or under exposed you can still do it with exposure compensation dial. I only shoot manual mode in indoor with strobes and light meter. Keep the good work

When looking through the viewfinder on my film camera it has a light meter and an light to indicate if I should be using a higher or lower shutter speed. Is there something like this on canon digital DSLRs , there must be surely ?
@MangoStreet4 жыл бұрын
yes, just the standard light meter, but it's not shutter speed specific.

Guys, how can you be saying this? The shutter speed DECREASES for a sharper image!
@MangoStreet4 жыл бұрын
if the speed is slower, it will capture more movement in the frame (and to the camera itself), thus making it less sharp.
@HayleyRoseWinters4 жыл бұрын
@@MangoStreet Exactly. When the speed is slower, its value increases. E.g. 1/250 sec < 2 sec.
@MangoStreet4 жыл бұрын
i think we're both saying the same thing and the confusion arose out of the fractional shutter speed. sorry if that was unclear.
@HayleyRoseWinters4 жыл бұрын
@@MangoStreet 🙃 Yeah… You meant "fractional" but did not say it out loud. When I was a beginner, such a statement would have confused me a ton! I'm clarifying things for all the ambitious beginners out there. 😁
