After Allah, if I'm thankful to anyone for improving my shooting, it is you! After I saw your video, I realized that my technique was incorrect. I kept my body too stiff while shooting (you know, the stiffness you should have while passing rather than shooting). So I started working on my technique like you taught (finding the sweet spot, maintaing the balance and everything). After few days of practice, today I went for a self-training session and realized that MAN MY SHOOTING HAD IMPROVED DRAMATICALLY! There is still work to do though, but I can't wait to surprise my teammates. Once again, A HUGE THANK YOU!!!

Good stuff. The first thing I looked at was which foot you landed on in the follow through. Then I was even more excited that you actually explained that part. Most of the shooting tutorials out there never leave their planted foot. I would add that doing a proper follow through like you do and landing on the shooting foot will also help keep your shot down while giving it as much power as you want. Good stuff, will pass this down to any kids I instruct.

Great tutorial. More slo-mo's in the future would be more helpful. After about 30minutes of practicing your technique I was able to strike pretty well 30% of the time. I am sure with more repetition I will be more consistent.

Hi Michael, can you do a tutorial on how to hit the ball with your laces? I struggle to consistently do this. I am always seeing my ball curl after I hit it, and it feels like my feet just don't rotate enough to expose the laces. Can you show me how please, thank you!

ur feet cant rotate enough because ur planting foot lacks muscle. I've been practicing shooting like Ronaldo, and almost a straight degree running to the ball isn't suitable for me, because I cant rotate and tilt my body as Ronaldo does. but if u run up to the ball at 45 degrees or even more, maybe u can hit with ur laces, hope this help u.

New to soccer asking for me and our 6 year old son, when you shoot, with your ankle locked out are your toes flexed down curled up and stiff? Or do you keep them relaxed and normal? Also right before contact with the ball, are your toes pointed to the ground? Or is it pointed slightly to the side? Or in other words are your cleat spikes pointed behind you or down into the ground, skimming the grass?

Tom Zeto not exactly skinning the grass but a little out. Your foot should be slightly diagonal so u dont hit the ground

When I shoot the ball my foot is positioned diagonal too the ball. My toes do not face the ground directly it is at an angle. I always try to hit the ball with my laces part of foot to generate maximum power. Your studs technically do not make contact with the grass as you might have seen that the front studs are shorter than the ones in the middle and rear.

Emil Lerner ik I'm not Michael and don't have a professional opinion, but I had yeah same problem and fixed it. For me, I did two things. One: focus on where you are going to hit the ball. Make a point of focusing on the spot on the ball that you want to hit, which is most of the time smack bang in the middle. Two: lean to the side so that you can extend your leg more and really get a full swing. Pause it at 9:17 and you'll see what I mean.
