I hope this comment doesn’t come across as really negative: even if you end up doing something you love, you will have to work. There will always be ups and downs, there will be days where you doubt yourself, there will be parts of the process you always dislike. And taking a break every now and again isn’t giving up - it is important and even necessary to keep boundaries between work life (even doing what you love) and personal life so that you can avoid burnout and keep healthy habits. That being said, putting in the work to do what you love can be so worth it. Just don’t go in thinking it will all be easy! I work in mental health and see my fair share of burnout. While I do love my field, I can also say it is sometimes exhausting and I feel like we as a society equate loving what you do to having an easy life, which is just unrealistic. Sorry for the TED Talk 😄 be well!

I know I’m not Michelle but I know what it feels like to feel overwhelmed when it comes to making my own choices. Me and my mom are really close and I’m still afraid of how she will react to certain things. What helps me is planning/writing what I wanna say. It’s kinda funny I actually storyboard out what I want to happen. Seems silly but I often get flustered and end up getting so nervous my mom takes that as a sign I don’t know what I’m talking about. The main thing is to be confident and concise. Tell her what you want to do, what you plan on doing with it, how happy it makes you, and most of all you love and respect her but it’s your choice. Ultimately you will have to live with whatever you decide. Your mom isn’t gonna wake up everyday and go to your job and although it’s scary your dreams are worth it! ❤️❤️ sorry that’s so long 😅

I have been following you since your Xanga days. I swear every time you make a video that's not makeup related it's like you're reading my mind and current struggle lol. 🎩🤎🌹

This gave me so much hope for my future! The fact that most of our parents aren't convinced easily that being an artist can be a successful career in it's own dynamic. I dropped out from college to pursue Art, I thought i finally came out from that dark pace I was in for almost 2years, college was stressful for me and i went into depression and developed severe anxiety and it gave me mental breakdowns often. Still it took time to heal myself. However, leaving college did not solve my mental health immediately because then I was more concerned about my parent's image and what the society would talk about our family if I don't graduate and get that piece of certificate. We live in a judgemental society where people who dropped out of college are always bound to be the hot topic in someone else's mouth. But thank you Michelle, now I'm more motivated than ever. I also believe to go far and beyond in life and prove everyone wrong one day.
