How to Sister-Size your Bra Pattern

Thanks for this video on sister sizing. I'm still not 100% certain I get it though. A 9 inch different between under bust and full bust equates to a G cup. Does a 10 inch difference equate to a GG? Does a 38GG have a sister size of 40G?

In my sizing system a 9" difference would be a G cup, and a 10" difference would be a GG cup. And yes a 38GG would be a sister size to 40G.

Do you have any tips for making a smaller cup size? I want to try the Black beauty bra but I’m not sure how to adjust it for an A cup

I would recommend going with the closest size to your current size, make a fitting bra, then pin out the extra fullness in the cup, then you can transfer the alterations to your pattern :)

But I dont think you can make a G cup from an A cup just by altering the band size?? You would never fit in that. I totally understand the concept if sistersizes and am still suprised that many women dont; or even dont know hiw to take your bra size). But it seems to me that you can make only the nexr sistersize out if ir and not the whole range/line ? 😳

That would be a big stretch. At the very core there are similarities between a 28GG and a 44B, but there are other things, like width of bridge and cradle that have an impact on the bra pattern. So generally speaking I feel like sister-sizing is best when you are 1-2 sizes, possibly even 3 sizes off, which is why I only included that many adjustment lines in my print out :)
