When I first started landing these I set myself up for a back heel, when I pop I do the backheel motion with my feet but keep my shoulders straight. If you can do back heels, inwards are really easy if you just imagine doing a backheel and not turning your body.

I know it’s been six years but this little tip really helped me man. Most of the times I tried inward heels I ended up doing shove its. Very occasionally my heel would somehow flick and I would land a sketchy one. But I never realized that my problem was I was flicking too early until I read your comment. I have them so much more consistent now. Thanks a lot!

it works for both. but when you're doing the heelfip in the inward direction. placing your foot like a 3 flip would over rotate the trick in a sense, thus making it harder the flick/land :p

Do you pop with your backfoot sliding behind you or do you just push it down (and get it behind not to block the board = put it out of they way) which can also cause a rotation on ur board as ur poping the pocket of the tail?

Chris Harris has sick and high ass inward heels. My inwards always double and I cant slow down the flip. If I do it only flips halfway. Mine are flippish so I stick to hardflips

if your foot is fully on the board and no on the edge as if a kickflip then iits fine i do it that way to but for varial heels i have my foot in the more cocmmon position with toes hanging off the board

After skating for a while I realized that skating is only 20% skill and 80% fear factor. I realized that after ur able to for any trick all you have to do is actually JUMP with the board and land it. Just get rid of the Fear Factor and u can land anything. TRUST!

No it is a inward heelflip, but a varial heelflip is a Frontside pop shuvit and a heelflip :-)
