In truth, this guy is firing about 150 ideas or more during this this Ted Talk. If you find it overwhelming, I suggest you purchase his book “How to Skip the Line.” His last idea is probably the best…don’t waste time doing things you don’t want to do…

Love it James. We're in the Great Reinvention, nows the time to skip the line.

What is the meaning of " the expensse of the things you love" means in the last line - "Don't do more of the things you hate at the expense of the things you love". Can someone explain please? TIA
@silverchairsg Жыл бұрын
"at the expense" means at the cost of. So he says don't do more of the things you hate at the cost of neglecting the things you love.

Being Asian we meet lines everywhere. Hope this talk gives me a skipper trick. 😂

*Don't do more of the things you hate at the expense of things you love* You know that sounds like a pretty generic. Exit one-liner but that's actually kind of Genius thing to close out with even if it had nothing to do with skipping the line

A lot of the things he tried didn't seem like "dreams," they seemed like opportunities ex. starting a kick starter to buy greenland, filing the paper work to become a presidential candidate, etc. Also, his theory that if you experiment until something works, you get into this "top 1%"? This guy seems like less of a dreamer and more like an opportunist. Nothing wrong with looking for opprotunities but just be honest. Basically this guy is saying do something you love but be open to trying alternative approaches that present opportunities and once one of them works aka you make a profit, find more opportunities to grow your dreams/business.

James has a very unique way of presenting his ideas, but I think that is what makes him great.

He really doesn’t need to articulate anything at this point. But he does via his books that millions have read.
