Just for the record, I think your Smoothies look better than Mike’s. I much prefer how you lead the foot out and then the board follows, that’s the magic bit. It’s hard to spot when Mike does it. I’m not sure which vid it was, but a recent post of yours had this great smoothie at the end of a run - I thought, ‘what was that!’, then only learnt it was a smoothie after watching your carpet board tutorial. As ever - keep up the amazing work, all the detail is much appreciated!

Yeah! I think they both have an appeal. Mike's is more subtle--more reminiscent of Kevin Harris in the 80s. I couldn't tell what Kevin was doing before I knew how smoothie worked either. Kind of amazing. I'd love to be able to do both and really have the style choice! 😃 But I also do love how it feels to step back the more I do it. It's like a tiny levitation haha

Great video. I’ve really been working on foot work a lot lately. My monster walks are there but my end overs aren’t where I want them. One thing I’ve noticed is there cleaner when I’ve got some speed. I’ll add these to my wish list. What size board is that?
@SarahParkMatott2 жыл бұрын
That's awesome! Recently footwork is all I care about haha 😂 I want to get my smoothies to be do-able at slower speeds actually. I really do well with them just at medium speeds. And this is the 7.6" bixby~

Freestyle reminds me of a sort of dance , I can hear some funky music when watch it . I think a whole freestyle set with some music to it would be nice .
@AcceleratingUniverse2 жыл бұрын
i think people have been doing that for about 50 years lol
@SarahParkMatott2 жыл бұрын
haha yeah, that is exactly how competitions run. I think it'd be really fun to put a set together like that. The skaters who could skate to the beat back in the day were pretty impressive 💪The dance-y style is what really attracts me to freestyle in the first place :D encourages me to keep working on footwork now.

I kinda think it looks cooler the way you do it when your foot motion is way ahead of the board, you should try exaggerating that and see what you get!
@SarahParkMatott2 жыл бұрын
I did do some exaggeration for some clips to be extra clear lol but I do like both looks for different reasons. I’d like to be able to do either 😃 on purpose 🧐

@@SarahParkMatott nice! Yeah it’s almost like two different but related tricks. Would def be cool to be able to ‘style’ it out on command.
