This was needed. The tone of my voice isn't very feminine. Plus I was very tomboy-ish growing up and transitioned into an absolute plain Jane. I just turned 25 and decided to go on an "Esther" season (biblical) to reform myself and reveal a new feminine side of me. Thanks for the video.

My masculine energy stems from my childhood, my voice was originally soft and I almost couldn’t speak up so people often spoke over me. So I became really stern. Also, I started working at 13 so I had to protect myself so I learned aggression. I learned that feminine behavior is too submissive. I read!!!!!

It is wonderful that you have come to awareness of this issue and you want to make a change. That is all that matters now and you can work towards a healthy balance. It is actually not submissive if you learn how to use your power. My goal is to teach you to do that. Much love to you

Girl! Reading is so IMPORTANT. A lot of women (and men) don’t have vocabulary to express their thoughts thoroughly. That can have a huge impact on ability to communicate effectively and then impact who you have access to.
@nugget65653 жыл бұрын
Summary (Voice & Speech): - You have control over your voice. If you begin to pay attention, people's voices change depending on who they speak with (i.e. baby, customer service, etc.). You can train your voice to sound a certain way. If you want something, you can change your tone. Practice speaking in a tone that's easy for you. - Feminine voices are soft and light (common for feminine voices). The tone of voice that you use is important! - When you are out in public, there is no need to raise your voice. Oftentimes, it attracts negative attention. - How you speak puts you in certain categories in life, it signifies which class you belong into. - Be mindful about what you say out loud. - Speak up so people can hear you, not because you're raising your voice. - The rate at which you speak is also important! People have a problem with those who speak really fast vs. someone who speak slowly. Speak at medium pace (ideal) - The way that they speak, feminine women are expressive. They are engaging when they speak (i.e. use your eyes, body, and smile! to draw people in) - Goal: have a voice that is soothing, calm, and paced - Behaviours within speech: Talking too much, it is really stressful when you're speaking to someone who speaks too much. Don't keep people captive in your conversations especially when they are on their way somewhere. Everyone doesn't need to know everything about you - do no overshare! - Do more listening than talking. Have a little bit of mystery to you - by mindful about how much you talk and who you are talking to - Ensure that when you are talking to someone that you are making eye contact (depending on the culture) - Do not interrupt while people are talking - Give people you're undivided attention, do not be on the phone/internet while they are speaking to you - Profanity: Delete from your vocabulary. Use adjectives and refrain from sounding aggressive. If you disagree with someone, still do not resort to profanity - Surround yourself with people that are like you! do not try to fit in by resorting to profanity. - Have standards for yourself. If you are well dressed and takes care of yourself, others will adapt their tone to you. - Build up your vocabulary by reading books

Since I was a teenager, people always told me "I talk white/ I act white." I was always insecure about it because as a African American young lady, I thought I had to be more loud, sound more rough, use a lower grade vocabulary, and use profanity. JUST to be what I thought I should be to fit in. As woman now, I'm so glad I never gave in and succumbed to what people expected me to be because I'm proud to say the way I present myself is not associated with my race. It is associated with my divine femininity. I have never been turned down from a job and I do not find myself in conflicting situations with people.

Alot of times we are trying to be someone we are not just because someone put that expectation on us. I know from experience. I used to try so hard to be someone I wasn't or someone the world expected me to be. And I ended up suffering in the end. Connect with yourself. I love it! I used to work in catering and we were taught how important it was to smile and watch our posture. Now that I work in customer service, I've really learned to master my way of speaking. About 55% of communication is non-verbal, which gets lost in my job because I'm on the phone and people can't see me. They train us to ask the right question, listen carefully and watch our language. I've noticed that people react very differently when I bring them bad news. They tend to be more understanding of the situation and it saved me when a customer filed a complaint against me, because I didn't allow my emotions to come through. This has helped me so much in my personal life as well.

Thank you, dear Michelle! I am absolutely enjoying your videos. I have been working for some time on being more feminine and practising my speaking voice. It is so hard sometimes trying to practice and then put it into practice at work, especially when there is so much noise in the background and you are trying to speak in a medium, med-register and being mindful that there are people working there and just a few steps away are the customers. Oh my! At some point when I began working there one of my colleagues started cursing and she expected me to say something back. I did not know what to say since I felt all eyes on me. I stayed neutral and later told the manager what happened. Thankfully he corrected her. It's important to know when to hold back and when to speak up. Never over chat or over-share personal stuff with colleagues or people you barely know. The rest of your advice I will keep in mind next time I go out.

Golden tips from our sister in femminity...i lost huge part of my femminity due to studying engineering then working with sometimes only men... I saw your first video time ago and since then I am recalling my feminine side to comeback... It went very successful so far.. I gained more respect and appreciation. Men listen to and appreciate the féminine girl waaaaaay more than the masculine one, this is the reality....

I totally agree with everything that was said. So, I subscribed 😊. I have always been more feminine and when I was growing up many people criticized me. It is nice to see other women who look like me embracing their true feminine nature.

This video is absolutely amazing! I have an awfully bad habit of talking too much, too fast and oversharing 🙄 I am well spoken as a result of reading, but I really need to unlearn my bad habits inorder to really maximize my femininity. I love how pleasant and soothing Kim Kardashians voice is 😍 I need to allocate time to listen to a few of her interviews in an attempt to emulate her way of speaking.

love this. trauma effects the throat / voice A LOT. if you are tense or carrying a lot of tension and stress in the body your voice will sound strained and unattractive. the most important thing we can all do is heal ourselves, free ourselves from our painful pasts and the painful stories we tell ourselves. ❤

I definitely agree that it’s important to surround yourself with like minded people. I’ve not had any success locating such people. I think that’s why so many of us classic feminine, traditional housewife types who are constantly attempting to improve their elegance and class are often talking about feeling like they don’t fit into society.

This was such a great topic. I tend to speak too loud and to interrupt which I will promptly begin working on. I also appreciated the tip you gave about reading to improve your vocabulary. As an educator, I think reading also helps young people develop a sense of sentence structure. Poor grammar is another way that we signal we were raised without certain exposure. Appreciate your content so much!

I worked in customer service and I used a soft sensual voice. I had customers of all races trying to get with me. They would call back and ask for me. One man wanted to fly me to Florida. LOL. I thought it was so funny because they didn't even know how I looked. I had to change my facebook name because they were searching for my name.

I had an ominous feeling just now when you spoke on sharing information with people. I did quite a big, "NO!" At my current workplace disclosing information to a front desk girl what I went through at my old workplace. Unfortunate but what's done IS done. Please keep those kind of videos coming. I wish I would have grown up with a role model like you. Unfortunately my mother was/is nothing like that and actually engages in the opposite in a lot of things you speak about (she is rude, she yells a lot). It takes time to shake those passive consumed impressions off. So again, thank you for each reminder.
