I don't think anyone likes being yelled at in a desrespectful way. I just felt confused when she said it doesn't matter if the person just has a loud voice or is not really upset. I'm from Brazil, and in my culture, we speak louder than Americans, specially when we're excited about things hahaha! I can get loud when conversing with people, so I wonder if I've been triggering people without knowing. I hope not

I have a friend like this. I love her, but she has an addiction to sympathy and pity that borders on Munchausen Syndrome. Every new person we meet has to hear about all the horrible things her brother put her through as a child, and the awful things he's put her and her mother through as an adult. Yes, he's a jerk, but one of these times when she was going on and on (and on) about his "toxic energy" to the cashier at the New Age shop, I kept checking the time because we were meeting him for lunch afterward. 😶

I "hate" my mom because of her dramatic personality and her lack of control. She was always being a victim, now I see she was just crazy. Because of the disfunction of my parent's relationship I have some traumas I'm working on. Now I'm 18 and I'm okay, but at least since I was 12 until I was 17 I suffered a lot, and she didn't even notice it. Ladies, work in yourself before having children. If you're gonna bring someone to the world to make You happy make sure you're making them happy too. Don't just expect for them to learn how to change if you can't do that first. They're not gonna believe that they can.

Thank you Dr. Michelle. Over the past year I realized I've grown up very sheltered, shy, and afraid to try things due to lack of money and overly focused on education. I've also been made fun of for being dorky/awkward by students I tutor. I'm trying to learn how to interact with people and maintain friendships without seeming fake (bc I lose the energy to keep it up with multiple people), not be naive, and trying to increase my stress tolerance, getting to be more aware of the world since I tend to avoid the news. I've been trying to love myself more and speak more positively and take better care of my appearance. It's been hard since I've spent years being ashamed of being Asian in my neighborhood.

My triggers show up the most in romantic and intimate relationships. I think it’s because I have a hard time trusting and being vulnerable and if I’m falling in love, I feel out of control of myself and the situation. There is a part of me that values my freedom and creativity. So, I have defense mechanism. But sneaky, controlling, or dishonest behaviors are the quickest way to trigger my emotions. Then, I will push away and just shut down. I don’t really lash out, but I do shut down and stop communicating. Which isn’t good either. Trying to recognize this and be better for my next relationship.

Over the past 1-2 years, I’ve been even more self-aware than I was before . But it’s helped me self-evaluate my emotional health & how to handle certain situations that entices my negative emotions. I’ve also learned that having healthy alternatives to express my emotions will less likely jeopardize my relationships with people, like painting or journaling or even exercising. For example, I learned that narcissistic people & their behaviors trigger me because of past experiences with them. So the best I can do is either axe them out of my life or keep my distance for the sake of my mental health. I’m 30 years old & cannot tolerate that type of behavior anymore. It’s toxic & stressful af.

When other females gossip or exclude me from the "clique" I get really angry. Or even if another female looks at me with contempt or i sense tension then I get offended. If someone doesn't keep their word to me or picks someone else over me I get angry. And lash out and would cut people off without a word. Positive triggers are if someone understands me or listens to me and includes me and defends me. Or loves me.

It's okay to be triggered. Now is a time to apply what you've learned to do in the triggering situation. If you've learned nothing while healing that can definitely reopen the wound. You will officially heal when you find a way to deal with that situation with emotional maturity and gentleness. Not only for the person but especially for yourself. It can be as simple as appropriately confronting them, not responding to a provoking, etc. Find your way to cope and over time this will make your healing stronger and secure.

I follow a page on Instagram. She's psychologist and was talking about PTSD. she said "it doesn't go away. Healing is recognizing your triggers and learning ways to manage them in a way that enhances you and is effective." That meant a lot to me. People will make you feel like it's suppose to go away and that's wrong. Those are memories and things that happened to you. Growth comes with awareness. For me, I was bullied and abused by females growing up, whenever a female friend excluded me or said something about me I would get triggered. I became aware of it in 2years ago when it happened again. Now I know it was because I had not processed what happened to me growing up.

I’m so happy you are bringing up hormonal issues ! Bc as soon as my mother find out I was sexually actively we went directly to the Doctor bc of the fear of me becoming pregnant however no one had no fear as to what the medication can do to my body.

I recently found your content. Thank you soooooo much!! Since finding you, I have referred many women to your videos. I can attest to how emotions can ruin things, I too fell victim. Which caused an end to my second marriage. 😞

I’ve been trying to get in touch with my feminine energy and I’ve stumbled upon your channel once before but I’ve gotten distracted but STARTING TODAY I will faithfully subscribe and watch your content because this is what I’ve been missing . 💯 I’ve been learning about law of attraction, feminism, and self love and I’ve never thought to put them together but watching most of your videos everything is starting to connect. THANK YOU DR. MICHELLE. Hope to meet you one day. Bless you.

i appreciate you addressing the point about not trying to bring someone to come down to your level. when i’m hurting or offended and someone is being logical it seems, in that moment, like i’m being invalidated and ignored and i find myself trying to hurt the person to make them understand. i realize that’s definitely immature and i need to practice understanding where the other person is coming from too and my role in it and stop letting myself get so worked up. your videos are very well thought out and i appreciate you ♥️

I cried at work back in March. People were upset we werent giving refunds even though they couldnt travel due to covid and I was called all kinds of names by the guests. I normally could take that but in this instance I understood why they were upset and I felt awful. And management were micro managing to where we couldnt even leave our desks unless we had a break or were off work so I had to go to my manager teary eyed and tell them I needed to step outside. That was the first time I cried in 4 years of working there.

Thank you for this! I feel many women and young ladies do not understand this! It’s also a good refresher for everyone. Also you are stunning ❤️ I’m also so happy that you include God. I find so many channels speak about changing but true change comes from God and His Holy Spirit. My emotions were all over the place until God helped me, and when I was able to understand the fruit of the Spirit

Thank you for this video! This is such useful information. I have to leave early for my day as well in order not to be emotionally overreactive. I was once very unhappy at my current job and will soon be beginning a new one and want to remain as emotionally neutral as possible. Dealing with my emotions in a healthy way has been a challenge for me and was something I was ashamed of for a long time. The professional insight you're providing and delivering in such a caring, humane way is so invaluable and much appreciated.
