I too have a six inch National Detroit dual action sander, I bought it in the early 70’s ! Other than replacing the pad a couple of times ( and a little air tool oil) every time I use it and it still performs great! This was when there were no Japanese or Chinese tools, just American made tools that last! Great video!

You're right Kevin - these sanders are bullet proof and last literally a life time :)

Hey Jerry, I believe that I have the same D.A. sander that you used in the video. I've had it so long that I can't remember when and where I bought. And it still works like new.
@LakesideAutobody3 ай бұрын
They are probably the best built DA's you can buy. Absolutely bullet proof - work forever with minimum care :)

*💥 Hi, I just watched your Rustolium* *Budget Painting* Will the moisture coming out of the compressor be eliminated by the Acetone in the paint?? I have a A a small separator coming out of my tank and one on my gun, I'm concerned that i'm gonna have a problem on my cabinet doors when The paint dries?? Do you have any? Recommendations l look forward to hear from you.Thanks for sharing, By for now, Ken.

Here are a few simple ways I use to remove moisture - kzbin.info/www/bejne/eYSqcpp3rsp8pKM I like the motor guard a lot - simple and effective ✌️

You should try one of those electric DA....polisher sanders. OMG....You will never go back to the ND DA....Better control and just as fast as the ND DA.....I have the harbor freight one and it sands super fast and excellent control. Even for sanding Bondo. Sands faster and better than the 8 inch Bondo buster. (mine died and I am not replacing it)

Happy Friday Jerry, thanks for more great content. You might already cover this in another video, but did you cut-in the paint on the jam area of the door before hanging it? Have a great weekend, my friend!
@LakesideAutobody3 ай бұрын
Funny you say that. My son picked this car up at COPART for a daily driver in the winter - he said he couldn't even notice the difference in color in the door jam so I left it. It's a bit off but honestly can't see it 'cause there's so much trim and rubber in there. Here's one though on cutting in - kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4WtiKFma7qIi9k

You're right, it is really close, so I don't blame you on a daily driver. I picked up a used National Detroit DA on your recommendation a couple years ago, and absolutely love it for feather-edging. You've saved me a lot of time and hassle with that. Great tip!
