I know that long time old and continuous usage can slow a mac down and lot of other factors can contribute to degrading mac performance. We have alternative option too like Stellar Speedup Mac. I have used and found that this tools remove the trash, leftovers and manage the extensions from the mac. Complete uninstall all the unused application simple drag and drop option. Hi ! Actually I deleted the Launch Agents and Daemon .plist files from my MacBook Pro that you had suggested. But there's a problem now ! Whenever I try to Start or Restart my Macbook, it gives a message which says " A critical software update is required for your Mac. Connect to a network to install this update. Your Mac can't be used until this update is installed ". I have deleted those .plist files you had suggested from my Trash Bin as well. Kindly inform as to what to do now ? How can I get back those .plist files , so that I can start my Mac normally ?

@@arleneg1321 I restored back-up of my Mac. This back-up was taken before I deleted the .plist files. Hope this helps !

@@arleneg1321 You must have taken a back-up of your Mac with an external hard disk. If yes, then you have to login somehow ( I don't remember how I logged in) and then use Time Machine to Restore your Mac back-up. Your .plist files will get restored. One more thing - check your Trash Bin. If those .plist files are kept there , then after login , you can restore these files by clicking "Put Back"

Replace the HDD with a SSD 1TB. Just did it to my computer, same as yours. Go to iFixit and get info. A 1TB is pretty cheap now.

A slow hard drive can also mean your hard drive is failing. I would take it to get a proper hardware diagnosis.

Hey sorry I didn't see your message. To lower the memory used in activity monitor try shutting down your machine at least 3 times per week and resetting your PRAM. This usually resolves most memory used problems. Also check if you can increase your RAM physically at crucial.com and inputting your model information. Thank you!
