Coach! Please do a video on left handed approaches and also making your hit drop on 10 ft line instead of hitting so deep (or increasing your snap). Thanks love your videos so helpful!
@SnailKingGY7 жыл бұрын
Lefty approaches are basically the reverse of whatever a righty does. So if a righty goes L-R-L the lefty has to go R-L-R. Bouncing a hit, or 10 footing it just means you have to wait for the ball to drop more than usual and you have to have a much faster arm swing so you won't miss the ball. 10 footing a hit is really all about timing and how fast you swing.

As a video game it just doesn't work. I play volleyball myself, but on console I like a football game over a volleybal game. Mario volleyball (included in mario sports mix) is pretty fun though, because you literally smash the wii mote down and it feels good. Plus hitting your opponents with shells as they try to spike or block :)
@thepampf39434 жыл бұрын
@@louiswouters71 whats not to work? Precise Timing with Differenz Buttons for high, middle, low receptions. Than the setter can choose from his hitters and by holding the Button down you can vary the height / Tempo of the Set. The Attacker has Differenz Buttons for Hard Hits, lobs, cut and roll shots and again by holding down the Button you decide the Power of the Hit. I guess you would need a lot of automatic movements by the players but.. I really think it should be possible

Well that's quite a coincidence since that Saturday afternoon I discussed including slide attacks with my setter. Now I can find out exactly how to run for them (to be fair what I came up with just by watching female players and Lucas was pretty close but not quite there and the timing was just awful). Thanks a lot! BTW. the music is a-ok. It is a slight improvement, adds some background other than running/hitting the ball. I'm looking forward to future releases od tutorials/VTOD especially considering the middle blockers. Keep up the awesome work!

I always do the slide attack with my setter if we are both at the left side front row and have to run to the other side. I just walk a little slower towards the middle as usual and then accelerate at the last moment. They never see it coming and it's funny to see the other's team middle blocker try to catch up with me.

@louiswouters716 жыл бұрын
It could work, but then you can only spike with power if you go for a line shot. As an outside attacker, this might be effective by sliding to the left. I've never seen it happen, but you can try. It will surely surprise the opponent.

Hi Coach Donny, i have a small issue. I've started training a group of girls between the age of 22 and 24 and they're all beginners. They really want to learn how to top-serve (serving above the head). The problem is that none of them have enough power, the needed form or anything. I've been trying to learn them the proper form (watching your video's), but they still don't have enought power and swipe under the ball in stead of behind it. Any tips? If you also have tips for anything regarding height... that would be nice! I'm 6'2'', so i don't really know the answers to:" How do i have to spike if i don't reach above the net?" :s THANKS! Ps: i LOVE your enthousiasm and how you really take time to explain things in detail!

@gericho7 жыл бұрын
Hey Coach, in your experience, which ball do you think is better as in stability when serving, passing and setting and also feeling. The Molten V5M5000 or the Mikasa MVA200.
@xcver7 жыл бұрын
well most leagues specify which balls to use so the question really only arises when you have that option I guess :)
@richardl.50547 жыл бұрын
Pretty subjective question! It seems like most rec players prefer the Molten because the "skin" is easier for all around handling - serving, passing, and setting. The Mikasa has a more slippery skin and it feels heavier, so it drops faster when hit with topspin. IMHO, it'll only improve your game if you get comfortable with both of them.

Can you do a video on delayed time attacks? I think thats what its called
@SnailKingGY7 жыл бұрын
Isn't that basically where if you have a competent blocker on you who looks at the attacker versus the ball, then you can use it. Basically your setter would just set the 2 ball while the middle runs in for a 1 ball, but right when he or she is about to jump they stop in their crouched position and wait for the blockers to fall, then go up for a no approach hit.
@oscarmarquez46237 жыл бұрын
KingofSnails yah it is😂😂😂
@SnailKingGY7 жыл бұрын
Lols then its pretty simple in concept, but difficult to execute since you would have to know if your blocker is actually competent or if he or she is a read blocker or guess blocker. Then you would also have to communicate with you setter to not set you a 1 and set you a 2 or 1/5 instead. Then the most difficult part I would say is for the hitter to hit the ball since he or she has no approach so their jump height isn't at the highest, so their arm swing has to be especially fast and whip like, while have an immense amount of wrist snap, so they don't swing out.

hello sir my question is can player standing in the attack line can receive a let serve????
@louiswouters716 жыл бұрын
Yes you can, the only restriction for the serve is that you can't block it, meaning that you can't play it back in one hit if the ball is still above the net and in front of the 3 meter line. If only a fraction of the ball is below the net, you are allowed to play it back at them. I did this a lot at the lower level where I jumped up as if I was going to block the serve and then let it drop just enough to play it with two hands in a small arc so it dropped dead over the net. Sadly the refs usually don't know the rules and the opponents get a point.

I think the question is not why have men stopped playing the slide attack and why do women still continue to do so. Which unfortunately has a lot to do with the jumping heights and speed in women's pro volleyball where a lot of the reach comes from sheer height of the players. first there are not many dominant back row players and second the block moves slower with setting speed being comparable to men's.

i disagree with this.. a slide attack is derived from a quick attack then eventually you slide.. the approach should be a fake front quick into a slide attack.. that makes it a play which is not obvious from the defenders perspective.. approaching a slide attack like this would be useless bcoz the defender already knows where you're going
